Kai Syaoran flew to the ground and stood in front of the Pavilion Master who was on his knees. He had lost all will to oppose the demonic beast. His eyes were listless and vacant. Kai Syaoran grabbed the pavilion master and lifted him up by the neck. 

He looked deep into the man's eyes and saw into his soul. The pavilion master had a strong affinity for water laws. 

His talent was decent enough to reach the Astral realm. 

Kai Syaoran had reached the second stage (Water Spirit) of his first realm of cultivation and for this stage, he needed to transform himself into a water spirit. For this, he needed to use a powerful expression of the laws of water but he could also do it by absorbing living beings with water affinity.
