Bab 30: Jaime

Jolene smiled as the wicked woman walked away, appearing irritated.

The bodyguard, who had remained in a corner, observing Jolene and her stepmother's argument, could only speculate about what was wrong with the young miss.

It was evident that she wasn't well, even before the argument began, and her pallid complexion confirmed it.

The bodyguard suspected that Jolene was unwell. Her face appeared even paler now, and it seemed like she was struggling to eat.

He had noticed her stiffness when he attempted to help her stand, as if she didn't have the strength to do so on her own.

As the bodyguard continued to watch Jolene, his focus was interrupted by a glare from her and a statement, "Do you think it's okay to stare at me while I eat, servant? I'm not eating raw food, after all."
