Even the artifact in Drishti's hand was influenced by his ability, cutting off the unknown energy it was receiving through runes. Although it still functioned, there was a noticeable effect.
But on that simple room's door, his ability didn't sever the energy from its source; instead, that language seemed to operate on a different principle, not simply drawing energy from something unknown and processing it, which allowed him to go this far in becoming a death flag himself.

A4KL About Confusion, Conduit was artifact placed since foundation of Heindal, So it had stored so much energy but in front of super strong individuals, it was one shot piggy bank.
Also, About Power system, there could be several confusions, but Book's tag being Overpowered will soon take effect, once, Ryuk leaves this place, I will also try to soon declare official marriage of him with someone special.
