Bab 139: Chapter 139: Sarcastic Remarks

Summer was coming to an end, and the evening breeze carried a slight chill. The roses on either side of the road were in full bloom, and their petals fell like rain, covering the cobblestone path like an exquisite oil painting, winding and enchanting.

Purple Summers walked slowly down the garden path.

The servant cleaning the garden greeted her, "Miss Purple Summers is back."

Purple replied, "Yes, I just got home, and I see it's quite lively here."

"The company overcame the crisis, so the third young master is holding a banquet to celebrate. He invited many guests, and even some of our esteemed family elders will attend."

"Really? That's quite a rare occasion." Purple said with a smile.

But her heart felt desolate.

Nathaniel Summers had saved the Summers Family company with her insurance payout...

And possibly, the one who had tried to kill her was celebrating at this very feast.

How ironic.

She couldn't think about it, it was unbearable to even consider.
