The next day, early in the morning, he got up early and watched Enna leave for work. He then rummaged through his own bedroom for his little backpack, handed Gigi over to Edward Jackson under the pretense of having plans to see a movie with classmates. The taxi driver was already surprised that he was traveling alone without an adult, and even more when he crisply requested to go to the Lawrence Headquarters. As he drove, the driver couldn't help but ask, "Child, does your dad or mom work at Lawrence?"
