Jonas didn't get the ring and glanced at Emma, then coughed perfunctorily, "There's still work to do at the company, I'll leave first."

Without a shred of reluctance, he left.

Watching his retreating figure, Eve resumed eating with a blank expression.

Emma stood beside her, fingering the edge of her clothes and hesitantly said: "He wants that ring, just give it to him. If he finds out you lied, he definitely won't let us go."

Her timid manner made Eve sigh inwardly.

Her mother had been pampered by her grandfather since she was a child, raised to be fragile. Because of her pure nature, she had been deceived by Jonas's sweet talk. Powerless to control the company after her grandfather's death, she had fallen to her current state.

No wonder her sister's personality was also so weak having grown up with such a mother.
