Everyone silently left the hospital ward, leaving the two of them alone.

Robert Foster kept his eyes on the doorway, revealing a faint, weak smile akin to a clear sky after the clouds disperse when he saw her petite figure slowly entering.

He slowly extended his hand, wishing to touch her.

The girl crouched at the head of the bed, refusing to reach out her hand; as tears fell like rain, she dared not look at him.

"I'm glad you're back, no matter how badly I'm hurt," he said.

The girl before him was silent, biting her lower lip as she shook her head, the tears slowly dropping onto the back of his hand.

"I'm...I'm sorry..." she choked, her emotions spiraling out of control.

Robert Foster was not the shy boy from years ago; he held her hand openly and gently asked, "I want to hold you, but I can't really move; could you hold me instead?"

Unable to suppress her emotions any longer, Wanda Wesley burst into tears, clutching his hand tightly.
