Bab 736: Escape

Just as Heatran's Magma Storm was about to hit Emperor Rode's Metagross, a thick bolt of golden lightning descended from the sky, intercepting Heatran's attack.

Following that, a Pokémon clad in "Electric Armor" slowly materialized from the dark clouds.

It was another Legendary Pokémon.

"Zapdos!" Yuga couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

This war felt like a clash of gods indeed!

With Champion level Pokémon on both sides, considering it was a battle between two empires where they had staked their lives and fortunes, now add thousands of Flygon, Groudon, Heatran, Zapdos...

Yuga felt like he might be watching a movie.

However, Yuga also noticed that this Zapdos was not yet fully grown and was definitely not as powerful as the Vante Empire's Guardian Deity, Heatran. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been tamed by Emperor Rode.

As soon as Zapdos appeared, it confronted Heatran, and once again, Emperor Rode and Emperor Vante were in a one-on-one situation.

The Pseudo-Legendary Metagross faced the Pseudo-Legendary Salamence.

Originally, Arus had a stronger Salamence, but it had been ruined by the Prodigal Emperor Rode.

Overall, Emperor Rode's Metagross had a slight disadvantage against Emperor Vante's Salamence, as this Salamence, while not a Fire-type Pokémon, was skilled in Fire-type moves.

After dozens of rounds of combat, Emperor Rode's Metagross was struck by a Fire Blast from Emperor Vante's Salamence and began to emit smoke, falling from the sky.

Even Emperor Rode, who was standing on it, tumbled down in a sorry state.

At the same time, Zapdos gradually fell behind Heatran, quickly being knocked out of the sky by Heatran.

After taking several consecutive blasts of Magma Storm from Heatran, Zapdos was charred all over, and its once magnificent golden feathers had turned into black curls.

Although this Zapdos was a Legendary Pokémon, it was still not fully grown and was far from matching a fully mature Heatran in its peak state.

Emperor Rode fell into a decline, affecting the morale of other soldiers to some extent.

Overall, the Pokémon used by the Arus army were far superior to those of the Vante army, but when morale weakened, the overall strength of the army plummeted.

Not only on Emperor Rode and Zapdos' side but also on the Flygon's side against Groudon, the situation was not optimistic. Now that Groudon had freed up, the Arus army was undoubtedly doomed.

As expected, not long after, Groudon was the first to take action.

No matter how numerous the Flygon were, they were just regular Pokémon. Under Groudon's full-powered Precipice Blades, they couldn't hold on for long.

The reason why gods were called gods was because they possessed unimaginable power, like Heatran and Zapdos. We referred to them as Legendary Pokémon, but they were not gods, as the level was different.

Under Groudon's rampage, half of the battlefield was now flowing with scorching magma. It was easy to imagine that after this battle, this place would become a wasteland.

After dealing with the Flygon formation, Groudon opened its mouth and unleashed a Solar Beam. A huge golden beam of light instantly engulfed the two warring armies.

Not only did many of Arus' soldiers die under this Solar Beam, but some of Vante Empire's soldiers were also affected.

Obviously, although Emperor Vante controlled Groudon, he couldn't control it like a puppet, so inadvertently hurting his own soldiers was unavoidable.

After one Solar Beam attack, Groudon didn't stop. Instead, it turned its gaze toward Gardevoir and Gallade, who were still battling Blaziken and Camerupt.

This time, it used something different from Solar Beam; it unleashed a Flamethrower.

A crimson pillar of fire condensed into a thin line, shooting straight toward Gardevoir and Gallade.

Sensing the danger, Gardevoir and Gallade immediately tried to use Teleport to escape from their location, but they were a step too slow. Gardevoir's half of the body instantly melted in the line of fire.

When Gallade, holding Gardevoir's hand, appeared not far from Emperor Rode, he realized that he had only brought back half of Gardevoir's body, while the other half had disappeared.

Looking at Gardevoir with wide-open but lifeless eyes, Gallade's eyes turned red. He glanced at Groudon with resentment, then finally used Teleport to appear beside Emperor Rode.

By this point, Emperor Rode's Metagross had been completely defeated, and Zapdos was severely injured, barely able to stay airborne.

Emperor Rode himself was also injured.

Although he harbored intense hatred for Groudon, Gallade did not lose his composure due to hatred and anger. He knew that Arus was undoubtedly going to lose, and if they continued like this, both he and his master would die here. In any case, he couldn't let his master die before his eyes.

So, he came to stand behind Emperor Rode, intending to use Teleport to take him away.

However, Emperor Rode, such a proud person, was unwilling to flee willingly. He glared fiercely at Gallade, attempting to stop his actions.

But Gallade completely ignored him. In the face of Emperor Rode's scolding, it would rather see him survive.

Both Gardevoir and Gallade were among the most loyal Pokémon to their trainers in this world. For their trainers, they could sacrifice themselves without hesitation.

Emperor Rode's Gallade was no exception.

The heavily wounded Emperor Rode couldn't stop Gallade at all. He could only watch himself disappear from the battlefield.

Seeing Emperor Rode escape, Emperor Vante did not pursue. Pursuing Pokémon with Teleport abilities was a challenging task, especially when it came to Psychic-type Pokémon like Gardevoir and Gallade.

Moreover, Emperor Rode, who was now a defeated dog, couldn't pose a threat in his eyes anymore.

Once Emperor Rode left the battlefield, the Arus army immediately fell into chaos, subjected to a massacre by Emperor Vante and his soldiers.

Emperor Vante had no sympathy for the soldiers of the Arus army.

This was war!

If it weren't for Arus provoking this war themselves, today's events would not have happened. Besides, had Arus' soldiers killed any fewer of the Vante Empire's soldiers?

Not only the Vante Empire, but countless souls from neighboring countries, large and small, had fallen under the hooves of Arus soldiers, including even Arus' own citizens.

Seeing Emperor Rode disappear from the battlefield, Yuga released Gardevoir from its Poké Ball.

"Gardevoir, let's follow them!"

This was the best opportunity to deal with Emperor Rode.

Gardevoir and Emperor Rode were originally connected as one form, so they could sense each other at close range.

Previously, because of the interference from the Poké Ball, Emperor Rode had been unaware.

After Gardevoir appeared, it closed its eyes for a moment, sensing its surroundings. Then, with Yuga and Shadowsong's presence, it left the battlefield using Teleport.
