Bab 15: Chapter 15 - Resolution
[A/N: I don't like cliffhangers so I assume you all don't either, so might here you go lol]
Atsui charged at Sukuna with eyes filled with rage as he punched out with full force, Julia charged towards Sukuna's side and kicked out towards his waist.
Both of them were confused as to why Sukuna did not move. However, the moment their attacks hit him... His figure disappeared in smoke.
''MOVE!'' Atsui screamed towards Julia who hastily jumped back. However, multiple explosions rang out before either of them could move far away.
Atsui and Julia both blocked their arms in front of them as they were both launched into opposite sides, Julia crashed through a wall as Atsui bounced over the pavement.
The impact made his head spin while he felt his arms ache in pain. If it wasn't for his eyes he would've been heavily injured.
Atsui gritted his teeth and jumped up. As soon as he got up, he felt a chill down his back as he hastily jumped to the side.
As soon as he dodged, a sword crashed into the ground and created a several meter long gash on the ground.
Atsui kicked out towards Sukuna's chest who nimbly evaded by bending backwards. He dropped onto the ground and kicked towards Atsui's legs.
Atsui's eyes shone as he jumped up and tried to create some distance, but Sukuna had already dashed towards him and sheathed his sword before he swung his fist over and over.
One could say that the Sharingan were truly a ridiculously useful pair of eyes, Atsui blocked Sukuna's fist over and over and hit Sukuna's chest and legs multiple times.
However, blocking his blows was quite doable, but negating the impact was a whole other story. Sukuna's blows were heavy enough that Atsui felt the bones in his arms ache more and more and he knew if he continued like this that he would be the first to fall.
He gritted his teeth and blocked his arms in front of his body and used Sukuna's power to launch backwards. He landed right next to where Julia crashed through a wall, Julia was just lying there with empty eyes as tears fell down her face and blood dripping down her lips.
''Are you going to continue being so stubborn! Can't you see he is trying to kill us!'' Atsui yelled which caused Julia to look at him with her empty eyes.
She could see Atsui's arms having multiple wounds and bruises while he had a black eye. Julia slowly got up and looked towards her child that was walking towards them with an emotionless face as if he was killing some strangers.
''Sukuna, is the clan so important to you that you would go this far?'' Julia asked with a choked voice.
Sukuna looked at her and replied with an icy tone, ''Neither of you know the truth of anything, you're all just lambs that do not understand how rotten this village, clan or Shinobi world is. This clan showed me nothing but love yet were hunted down due to their bloodline. All the people that died in the last few years, I knew every single one of them. My friends, neighbors, even Rinami died and yet I learned that it was all because of you all''
Julia looked at her child for a few seconds before she sighed and had a resolute look on her face while her eyes failed to hide her pain and sorrow.
''I have no intention of dying'' Julia said as she looked at Atsui before looking at Satori and Sumure, ''If we try to run, Sumure and Satori will just stop us. We can't beat them so take Sukuna-chan and use him as a hostage''
''Hostage? I will kill the little bastard!'' Atsui growled to which he felt a sting on his cheeks as a crisp slapping sound rang through his ears.
''Ignorant fool! And then? We'll still die at their hands! This is why I wanted to kill myself when Danzo forced me to marry!'' Julia yelled angrily, Atsui stood there for a few seconds with a stunned expression as he looked at Julia.
''What do you mean for-…!'' Atsui yelled but was interrupted by Sukuna who had appeared behind him, swinging his blade as he grabbed the opportunity presented to him by his mother.
''Bastard!'' Atsui cursed as he jumped back. However, Sukuna's blade still created a trail of blood as Atsui landed a few meters backward.
Julia hastily kicked towards Sukuna who could only dodge with his arms and be launched away.
''Water Jutsu: Snake Binding!'' Jullia yelled as her hands moved rapidly, Sukuna who had just landed hastily jumped into the air as multiple long water snakes appeared at his previous spot and shot towards him.
He swung his sword before landing onto the ground before dashing at Julia once more, Atsui just stood there in pain as he looked at his hand in horror.
Julia was about to charge at Sukuna as well before a loud yell shook them both enough that they both jumped backwards.
''AAAARRGHH-….!!!"' Atsui screamed in pain as tears rolled down his cheeks, Sukuna and Julia were both stunned as they looked at him with weird expressions.
Sukuna had cut off Atsui's hand cleanly from his wrist, his hand plopped onto the ground at the place he was previously standing.
He looked at his wrist as he cried while Sukuna looked at his stunned mother looked at Atsui, clearly surprised how the man was crying in tears in such a situation.
Sukuna disappeared and Julia felt a chill down her back, she hastily jumped in front of Atsui and blocked Sukuna who swung his sword at Atsui.
Julia held out her hands and caught the sword as it dug into her hands. She gritted her teeth and kicked Sukuna in the chest who threw several Shuriken spinning with his Wind Force Jutsu towards Atsui once more.
Julia cursed under her breath that she didn't bring any weapons, Sukuna had naturally timed this attack perfectly.
He wasn't stupid enough to confront two Jonin that were armed, his mother wasn't just the average Jonin either while his father possessed the Sharingan.
Ofcourse, what was out of his expectations was that his father was such a wimp that he would be so distracted during a life-or-death fight.
Julia hastily tried making hand signs as a dome of water appeared around the two of them.
Just as she thought she blocked it, her vision warped into complete darkness. She trembled and felt something coming near, she hastily bended backwards to avoid Sukuna's sword that would've cutoff her head if she didn't dodge.
However.... She made a crucial mistake. Atsui was still kneeling on the ground behind her and caused her to lose her balance.
She felt an overwhelming fear as she quickly tried to get up, but Sukuna had already appeared on top of her and punched her stomach.
Julia grimaced in pain as she coughed up blood and held her stomach. Sukuna felt something coming from his back and jumped up.
Atsui had launched a fireball towards them both, Julia didn't even notice it before her lower body was struck by the Fireball Jutsu of Atsui which made her scream in pain.
Sukuna looked at the worn-out Atsui who was still crying in pain before he for the first time looked into his Sharingans. Atsui, who finally thought he had a chance to put him in a Genjutsu suddenly felt the world go black.
He felt one last cold breeze down his neck as he internally wished he had never created the child before his head rolled down his neck and hit the ground.
Sukuna looked at his father's horror and hate filled expression before it turned lifeless, he calmed his rough breathing and looked towards his mother who was clearly in a lot of pain on the ground as she tried to get up.
Julia looked up and saw Atsui's head on the ground, she didn't scream, she didn't show fear and neither did she show sympathy. To Sukuna's surprise she just showed..... acceptance.
She looked at Sukuna and just sat on the pavement, her legs were ruined by Atsui's Fireball Jutsu as it hit her undefended legs while she knew fighting any longer was pointless. Sukuna slowly approached her with a cold expression as he looked at her through the pouring rain before his cold voice rang in her ears,
''I want you to tell me something....''
Julia looked at him and waited for his question as he finally revealed the pain and sorrow he had been hiding all this while when Juri gave him the information...
''Did you ever truly love me?''
Julia's mouth opened before closing once more as she looked into the air, the rain touching her face felt unrealistic as she lightly answered with a bitter smile, ''I....I don't know....''
''I see..... Thank you'' Sukuna said while Julia closed her eyes. Sukuna's right hand moved as he bit his lip and closed his eyes.
A soft impact rang through Sukuna's ears as he felt his stomach turn, his throat felt stuffed as he opened his eyes.
His mother's head laid lifelessly on the ground while the blood made a small puddle. Sukuna looked at Sumure and Satori who didn't dare look for a while now in fear they would interfere.
''Satori, Sumure, go on ahead of me please. I just want to be alone for a bit, give me a few minutes'' Sukuna said as he sat on the ground in front of his mother's and father's corpses.
Sumure and Satori looked at the situation and both of them felt a heavy feeling of pity, fear and remorse for Sukuna who sat in front of their bodies.
''I don't think it's smart to be alone for now Sukuna'' Satori instantly replied to which Sukuna just looked at him with a bitter smile, ''Please, I really just need a moment. Just go inform grandma that I will be there soon''
Satori wanted to say something, but this time Sumure stopped him and shook his head, ''Please don't do anything stupid Sukuna, take your time'' Sumure said with a voice full of love and pity.
Sukuna gave him a forced smile as they left, Sukuna focused back on the body of his parents.
He had his arms on his knees as he just sat there, staring at their lifeless bodies lying in a puddle of blood. His childhood memories filling his brains of when his father was still loving of him while his mother would always dote on him.
Remembering how they would always be proud when he showed progress made him smile lightly, His father was merely proud because knowing Danzo, he surely tried to have Atsui create a second Itachi or a lab experiment. Surely he would have told Atsui that Sukuna would be able to help him recreate the Uchiha, that would also explain why he was so cold the moment Sukuna made it clear he wanted to lead the Senju's
As for his mother, she was merely an entrance into the Senju's for Atsui. Ofcourse, her intel was also of great value to Danzo, but her genes were even more precious. Danzo naturally knew of her father, if he could create a child with the Senju Genes and the Uchiha Genes, he would have an ultimate weapon in his hands!
Sukuna heard rapid footsteps approaching as Akai landed next to him with a pitiful look on her face as she looked at Sukuna who still only looked at their corpses.
She wanted to say something but even she couldn't muster up the courage to say anything and merely got onto her knees next to him.
She grabbed his head and pulled him into a hug against her cleavage as she held him tight, but Sukuna just merely stared with an empty expression.
After a few minutes of both of them getting drenched by the rain, Sukuna finally spoke out with an emotionless tone, ''In the end, the majority of my life has been based on lies''
Akai trembled and hugged him even tighter before responding, ''I won't deny what your pa... those people did. But I can for sure say we all love you dearly. In fact, if it wasn't for your bloodline awakening, we would want you to live a life without the Senju name and live like an ordinary Shinobi. We all tru-...''
''I know Akai, I know. That is exactly why I killed them'' Sukuna interrupted as he got out from her embrace and stood up. Akai looked at him as he gave her a bitter smile,
''They caused several Senju's to be hunted, just the thought of them being tortured makes my stomach turn''
Akai bit her bottom lip as Sukuna smiled lightly and put a hand on her head, ''Don't worry too much, nobody forced me to do it. I choose this path and I intend to finish where I started''
Akai looked at his face and got up as well, his eyes were tired and blood still dripped down from his lips.
''You can rely on me, don't charge into situations on your own'' Akai said gently which caught Sukuna in surprise as he lightly teased, ''Can I consider this you finally accepting me?''
Akai didn't answer and merely looked forward, yet she knew that Sukuna was aware of her little faith in him rebuilding the Senju's, it seemed that she finally had a change of heart.
''Akai, I don't intend to go down the path of a hero'' Sukuna said as he looked at his parents' corpses as he released a heavy sigh before grabbing into his shirt and revealing two cloth bags.
''What do you mean?'' Akai asked with a confused expression as she looked at Sukuna with curiosity.
He steeled his heart and grabbed his father's head and put it in a bag while doing the same with his mother's. His following words were enough to shock Akai to her core before she smiled widely after hearing his words,
''A hero sacrifice's his loved ones for the world while I would ruin everyone and everything if they dared touch anyone'' Sukuna said coldly.
Sukuna looked at the lifeless corpses and picked his mother's corpse up before disappearing, they weren't far from their house, so he decided to store them there for the time being, after quickly doing the same with his father's corpse, he and Akai disappeared into the rain.
Sukuna held the cloth bag in his hands as he steeled his heart, a resolute and cold gaze filled his eyes as he increased his pace. He had made them all wait long enough....
