The sky outside was cloudy and gray. The night cold still lingered in the air, but the town was quickly coming back to life. People were taking out their bikes, and getting into their cars, rushing to go to school and work. The postman was coursing around the street, delivering letters and morning newspapers. From two or three houses away drifted the sounds of drills and hammers, as one of the neighbors was renovating their home. It was a normal, peaceful morning. As if what happened in the mansion was nothing but a bad dream.
