When he was browsing online - he placed it right next to him on the desk. When he was preparing dinner - he put it on the kitchen counter. Even each time he went to use the toilet, he still carried the phone with him, unwilling to part even for a second.

However, the whole day had passed, and his phone didn't ping, not even once. No calls, no messages, nothing.
