"I am sorry about this, my dear." The older man said, clearly looking sorry for what he did, as he stood before her inside her restaurant. "If there is another way..."

It was not the first time the man had visited and joined her. His former landlord had been a frequent patron. He even witnessed the growth of her restaurant.

A few days ago, it used to overflow with customers, from local diners to travelers, chatting, laughing, and feasting on her delicious food. 

"Don't be." Thalia looked at the man who had given her a chance to set up her place in his building. "This is not your fault. Truthfully, I should be thankful to you."

She believed if not for him, she would not have proven that she had what it took to create something out of her skills and determination.
