"Because I think you deserve the break. I know how hard you work while simultaneously raising our son. I could not even imagine it could have been easy." Damon disclosed to her some of his reasons.

He felt like he had been sucker punched when he learned about the truth about her life. She had been through so much. Then, he had to come along and make it more difficult.

He thought of himself as the biggest asshole he had ever met when he looked in the mirror. He was a hypocrite, condemning his father for being a jerk when he was the worst douchebag of them all.

"I only did what I had to do." She smiled at him, with no sign that she blamed him for the life she had.

But before they could discuss more about it, he parked the tiny electric car on the side of the narrow road. From there, they would have to stroll to the said spot.

"What are we doing here?" She asked, looking confused as her eyes wandered on the luscious trees and grassy ground.
