Rowan knew how scary the spider was, but he liked it so much. It was a baby he raised from a young age and fed his blood. It acted on his will and it had been a great tool in securing secrets and dealing with hard-headed people like these.
He didn't think that the mage would continue to play a fool after seeing the spider.
Surely, the trick worked. He didn't get to open the lid before he succumbed to his fate.
"I will tell you everything. Just don't let it come out!" he fearfully pleaded and Rowan smiled upon hearing that.
"Good! Now be a good boy and tell me why you are hunting for her. It can't be possible for the awakening potions or her vegetables, right?" he could be a fool if he believed that.
If it was that evil and two-faced queen, he might have believed that it was due to jealousy. After all, who could tolerate someone better than her or him?
