Chapter 33. We're already enemies
"Saint Segwey Jon, that is a super rookie, Flame Emperor Ace, captain of the Demon Ace pirates. It will be hard for me to kill him without harm befalling this ship." A vice admiral spoke hurriedly, he tried to advice against this command.
Vice admiral Kaluka had been assigned to protect this world noble as he chose to go out and hunt for slaves.
Kaluka was chosen both for his strength and age, he was old, experienced and wise.
The World noble just gave an angry look.
"Respected Saint Segwey Jon.. I'll attack but... She's a warlord, she works for the marines and the world government... If we try to apprehend her, there will be lots of problems later!" Vice admiral Kaluka tried one last time.
"Don't apprehend, enslave!" Saint Jon said angrily before walking away while stomping.
Vice admiral lost his respectful and meek demeanour when the saint had disappeared.
Vice admiral sighed as he looked at the state of the demon Ace pirates and the Kuja pirates.
Seing how the demon Ace pirates had turned into stone and all the Kuja pirates had passed out, he realised that this mission might be slighty less bloody.
But the real problem was her, the Kuja Captain, Empress Boa Hancock. She was a warlord, and the second strongest female pirate.
He knew that he might not be her match, but luckily there were two other young rear admirals under him. They were strong and on their way to becoming Vice admirals.
This was one of their missions they had to do to gain experience, with them joining together it might be possible to defeat Empress Hancock.
As for Hancock, her cold eyes stared at the vice admirals, calculating.
She was trying to come up with plans.
Boa sisters were looking at eachother in worry, not because they didn't think that they could survive this situation, but because even if they get away, today is the last day they'll be able to be warlord again, in fact, escaping a world noble is a greater sin than being a pirate.
Their lives are about to fall right into the pits of darkness.
Suddenly they heard shouts of pain, distress and panick.
Vice admiral Kaluka turned around and saw that all of his subordinate's clothes had turned into blue flames that burned them down into ashes.
It took less then 2 seconds before all of his subordinates had turned into ash, he couldn't even react before it was over.
All he saw was that all of the marine uniforms caught blue fire, which then grew all over the marines, burning them into ashes in less than 2 seconds.
Luckily, one of the rear admirals used Haki and jumped into the sea, saving himself from death.
The other one used Haki but it wasn't enough, the end, he only burned for a bit longer before dying.
This surprised everyone at the scene.
Boa sister dropped their jaws as they looked at Ace.
Vice admiral lost his composure as he realised that Ace has awakened his devil fruit abilities.
"Celestial dragons... To think that he could make me hate them with so few words." Ace said coldly as he jumped on top of the government ship.
"Y-You're attacking a world noble's ship?! Don't you know that the world government will come after you? Hunt you down!" Vice admiral shouted in fright. Not necessarily because he was afraid of fighting Ace, but because he was afraid of the world governments response to this.
They didn't know the word 'mercy'
Everything that has connections with Demon Ace pirates will disappear.
Vice admiral Kaluka had lived a long time and he knew that rebelling against the world nobles is a fools errand.
All pirates would try to escape in this situation, and he, as a vice admiral might secretly let them if it means securing the life of the world noble. He had never heard of a pirate that attacks the world government ship instead.
"The world government? They will hunt me down?..." Ace asked as he walked towards the vice admiral.
"Yes! Not only that, everyone you have ever known wil die or dissapear!" The vice admiral said, hoping that the rookie would turn around and escape.
He didn't want this to blow out of proportion. And if they fight here, they might accidently cause discomfort to the world noble, and in the worst situation he might accidently get harmed.
"Oh, well, the funny thing is, I already consider them enemies. Today is a good day to make it official. " Ace said as he finally reached the vice admiral Kaluka.
His words stunned the vice Admiral long enough that he didn't react to Ace's punch that sent him straight through the captain's cabin.
The Boa Sister were completely stunned.
They had never thought someone would go against the world Government.
The Marines, the four Emperors and the seven warlords are the three big powers of the world. But anyone that is high enough in the hierarchy, knows that's just mostly the public knowledge.
The true power of the world is the World Government. It owns the Marines, Nations, Islands, and many secrets militaries and organisations.
While the four Emperors are against eachother and rivals, often times fighting.
The world government own about 50-60 percent of the world while the Emperors only control about 40 percent.
And that percentage is then divided further for each Emperor.
The Marines have 4 admirals that are almost on par with the Emperors. Many vice admirals, countless rear admirals. The world government also have many hidden powerhouses.
But the reason they don't go after the Emperors is because the Emperors themselves are too powerful, and although the marines can go on an all out war with an Emperor, they will suffer big casualties. It will be a heavy price to pay, and then another Emperor might use that opportunity to attack the marines.
As for the Emperors, they won't attack the marines nor declare war on them useless they are suicidal.
Each fraction keep eachother at check, this is the natural order of the sea.
Yet, here was a rookie pirate, attacking the ship of a world noble. The world government aren't known for their mercy, they will go after Ace as if he's the devil of the world.
That's why the Boa sisters were completely aghast by the fact that Ace jumped into the world government ship and killed all the marines.
They truly understood the consequences of his actions, no even they might not be able to predict the response of the world government.
"Mad man..." Marigold whispered to herself.
"Will we also get entangled in this mess?" Sandersonia asked worriedly.
"..."
