Chapter 26. It must be that one!
Ace fell down from where the 200,000,000 volt thunder Gods head had been, and landed near Enel.
Ace frowned.
Flames could get hotter, and as they changed temperature, they changed colours. And this was one of the reasons why it was so hard to train the flame fruit.
By the time it reached the temperature of blue flames, a whole island would burn up if not controlled properly.
And by the time it reached the white colour, and whole island would be evaporated into nothing, even if it is a flicker of a flame.
The first time Ace reached the level of blue flames, it was only his palm that had turned into blue flames and the heat burnt down a whole island, luckily it was an uninhabited island.
So Ace had to learn to use his flames without releasing any heat outside the flames themselves, and this took a long time to learn and control.
That's why the Skypiea still existed after he used that attack right now.
Ace looked at his hands, they had gotten even hotter than they had ever before, and his flames had turned invisible for a Millisecond...
He didn't know there was a level above white flames, but that scared him because he felt like he had zero control over those flames as he couldn't see them nor feel them.
Ace even suspected that it wasn't flames... Or at least, it was flames that were just about to turn into plasma, so he lost all control over them. It was lucky that he reacted fast enough and stopped using his invisible "flames"
Looking at Enels body, Ace saw that Enels head dissapeared completely. There wasn't even any blood, the head was just gone.
Ace's flames had gotten so hot that his head had evaporated.
Ace frowned. Enel only knew observation haki so he was defenses against his flames, but even then... Ace had to use his strongest flames to defeat Enel.
Ace almost struggled against Enel and Enel didn't even know Armament haki. Ace even suspected that Enel never really trained.
Which meant that just because he ate a devil fruit, he became this strong.
If Ace didn't know haki, and hadn't found a way to develop his fruit abilities to this point, he might've struggled alot against Enel, since the result of their fight would've been decided by whose devil fruit was stronger.
Ace realised that someone that ate the lightning fruit would gain the powers to stand as an elite in the world, even without haki and any real physical fighting prowess.
Ace easily won over Enel, but Ace was also aware that at this point in history, there wasn't anyone that could overpower himself. That's how strong he was. Maybe he could be rivaled, but he couldn't be manhandled by anyone, not even by the Emperors.
Yet he struggled, when not using armament Haki, against someone who hadn't learnt armament haki.
Sure, the flame flame no mi, was one of the fruits with the greatest potential, but it's base form wasn't nearly as strong as the lightning lightning no mi's base form.
Ace turned around and used his haki to feel the whole Forrest to see if he could find Enels fruit as he had died.
But it was impossible to find it with haki like this, so he blasted into the sky and flew around, trying to spot it, hoping that it would turn up somewhere near him.
But after an hour of searching he gave up, skypia is very big, even if it was right below Ace, he wouldnt be able to spot it as leaves from the tree would hide it.
So in the end, he simply flew down to his ship again.
As he landed, his crewmates looked at him in wonder, as he didn't have his nonchalant aura, instead he seemed serious about something.
They were about to greet him but stopped.
Ace still couldn't get over the fact that Enel, with just a devil fruit, was able to reach that level of strength.
If he had trained his haki and fighting abilities, he would definitely be a contender for the strongest human. That's how impressive the lightning fruit is.
Ace was about to ignore them and go to sleep in his chamber, but before he could take a step, he found a half rotten apple on deck, right by his feet.
Looking at it, it suddenly turned yellow with spikes.
"Huh?" Ace got flabbergasted as he stared at the half rotten fruit.
'is this.... The...' his mind couldn't even comprehend what was going on.
He picked up the fruit and everyone stared at it.
"Captain, is that a devil fruit?" Apoo asked with shaking finger as he pointed at it. He sounded scared.
He suddenly started frantically looking around to see if there were any scary bounty hunters or other pirates around, that wanted money.
"WAHAHAHAA THE HEAVENS FAVOUR THE HANDSOME!!!" Ace started laughing like a crazy fool. The crewmates just looked at eachother in wonder, not understanding why their captains seemed to go nuts.
Holding the lightning apple, Ace laughed as he went to the captain's cabin.
"Wahahah set sail to the next place!" Ace said as he closed his doors.
"Apapapa it's good that captain hid away that damned fruit, before we get found with it!" Scratchman Apoo laughed happily.
"Wouldn't it be better if we got spotted with it, and some fearsome pirates came after us?" Urouge asked with a big smile.
*Munch munch*
"What fruit do you think that is?" Gaga asked as she looked at Bonney eating her Pizza.
"Obviously, it's a logia!" Apoo said smirking.
"Why would you guess that." Ronaldino asked as he inspected his gun.
"Well, didn't you see how happy captain was?" Apoo showcased his brain power.
"Hmm, most probably THAT fruit..." Yennow said mysteriously.
"That fruit?" Spikewards questioned as everyone looked at Yennows, curious about his hypothesis.
"Yellow fruit? Logia? Isn't it obvious?" Yennow said as all of them listened closely, even Bonney slowed down her pizza eating.
"Pee Pee no mi! The golden shower of all fruits!" Yennow said excitedly.
But by the time he finished his sentence, everyone was gone and doing their own thing, with no interest in him anymore.
"Hey, it's possible!" Yennow said feeling like they were looking down on his brain power.
