Treated like a criminal, I was forbidden to remove her body as it was to serve as a reminder to everyone else. I spent every day accompanying her corpse, ignoring my training and classes. 

My silent rebellion finally allowed me to give my nana a proper burial. As I carefully washed her body, all I could think of was the knight in her stories.

"Nana, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. I am so sorry that I am too weak. The voices are getting louder, nana. They are telling me to kill everyone. Why couldn't Sir Knight save you? I don't think I can hold on much longer. What the voices are saying is right!"

'You selfish bitch! Margaret died because of you!'

But I knew better, so I never followed them. Nana wanted me to be a righteous person despite my tendencies. I remembered hugging my Nana's body and sobbing.
