Now, Alfonso is preparing himself to attend a banquet organized by the oldest and wealthiest clan in the Philippines, the Tuason clan. The banquet is being held to celebrate the birthday of the current patriarch of the clan, Don Antonio Maria Tuason, who acquired vast landholdings in what is now Quezon City, making the family one of the wealthiest landowning clans in the Philippines.

Alfonso understands that mingling is a way for a leader to communicate with his people, which is why he accepted the invitation.

Turning to Alejandro, Alfonso asked, "Is the car ready for our departure?"

Alejandro replied, "Yes, Your Majesty."

"Very well," Alfonso commented.
