"You...! You dare to trick me? I'll kill you, I swear I'll kill you!!"
Inside Jon, Alessa, who had been locked within him, screamed angrily. She finally understood the situation. Even though she wasn't aware of the Darkhold and its dark spells, she realized that she had been taken captive and now felt obliged to follow Jon, as if they were in some kind of master-servant relationship against her will.
"Trick you? I didn't trick you," Jon shrugged and replied, "You were the one who wanted to get inside me in the first place, and now you're stuck. It's your own fault for being weak, don't blame others for it."
"I'll tear you to pieces!" Alessa couldn't do anything to Jon currently because she was compelled to obey his orders and couldn't cause him harm.
Ignoring her rage, Jon went on, "But I did promise to avenge you. I've trapped those jerks from the church, they're stuck. I can let you take care of them in your own way."
On hearing this, Alessa calmed down and asked, "Are you telling the truth?"
"Of course, why would I lie to you now?" Jon replied. With Alessa unable to pose a threat to him at the moment, there was no reason for him to deceive her. When he was in the church earlier, he didn't kill the followers but instead trapped them using a sinister barrier for Alessa to deal with.
Ever since Jon entered Silent Hill, he had faced various challenges, from Alessa, from Claudia, which had consumed a lot of his time. During this period, he contemplated certain matters.
One of them was the connection between Sharon and Alessa. While wandering in Silent Hill previously, he had considered that Sharon and Alessa shared the same main soul. The separation of Sharon's soul from Alessa's meant that if something happened to Sharon, it would affect Alessa too. Hence, Jon came up with the plan to trap Alessa and bind her to himself.
After all, Alessa was a formidable being capable of creating alternate dimensions. Although she might not match him in a head-on fight, overall, Alessa exceeded him in other supernatural abilities. Therefore, having her as an ally was a wise decision.
However, given Alessa's immense power, expecting her to obediently follow as a mere follower was unlikely. Despite establishing a master-servant dynamic, controlling her would prove challenging. Therefore, Jon decided to offer Alessa a bargaining chip - something she deeply desired: the chance to personally seek vengeance on the church members.
Though those church members were despicable individuals, punishing them could earn Jon significant penalty points. Using this opportunity to secure a formidable ally like Alessa seemed like the perfect strategy.
After a brief pause, Alessa responded in a somber tone, "Fine, as long as I can massacre them myself, we can deal with our own matters later."
"Hey, don't paint me as the villain here. I didn't want things to come to this. You're the one pushing me," Jon shrugged, "Besides, being on my team might not be a bad idea. And I can promise it'll be far more exciting than being stuck in a place like Silent Hill."
Alessa merely snorted coldly, choosing to remain silent.
Turning to Rose and Sharon, Jon spoke calmly, "Alright, your issues are sorted now. Sharon won't wander off without a reason. She can lead a regular life from here on out."
Rose sighed, "A normal life? After everything she's been through, do you really think that's possible?"
Realizing her words may have been insensitive, Rose quickly changed her tone, "I'm sorry! You've done so much for us, and here I am, complaining."
Glancing at Sharon, Jon sighed, "Well, good deeds till the end~"
He retrieved sunglasses from his pocket along with a neuralyzer, telling them, "Now, focus on this, and don't blink~!"
Rose and Sharon involuntarily gazed at the neuralyzer in Jon's hand. With a snap and a brilliant flash of white light, their expressions turned vacant.
Jon removed his sunglasses, stored the neuralyzer, and spoke, "Alright, Rose, you were driving near Silent Hill with your daughter when an accident occurred. Upon waking up, you discovered Sharon missing, taken by local criminals, and I managed to rescue her. May God watch over you both, and now you may return home! Oh, and Rose, your car appears to be broken down. I hope you're insured, but you can hitch a ride from a passing vehicle as you depart from Silent Hill. Leave this forsaken place."
With his words, Jon implanted false memories to ensure their safe departure.
Subsequently, Jon connected with Alessa mentally, "Alessa, guide them back to the real world, ensure their safe exit from Silent Hill, and shield them from the dark nightmares of this place!"
However, Alessa resisted, "Why should I? We share the same soul already. Why should she get to move on unscathed while I'm left inhabiting the body of such a jerk like you?!"
Fueled by bitterness and completely forgetting her original reasons for sending Sharon to the orphanage, Alessa refused to comply.
Jon didn't bother arguing with her and stated plainly, "This is the condition for my assistance in seeking revenge for you."
"Fine!" Alessa finally relented after a moment, clearly reluctant.
Initially, Jon could have transported them back to the real world, but using a portal would expose magic and invalidate his earlier explanations. Alessa, being the creator of Silent Hill's inner world, had the ability to return them discreetly to reality without revealing magic to them directly.
"Goodbye, sir, thank you for all you've done. Best of luck to you!" Rose expressed her gratitude towards Jon.
In the fabricated memory Jon had provided, her daughter had been kidnapped by drug traffickers, and Jon had come to her rescue.
Subsequently, Rose prepared to depart with Sharon, but Sharon lingered, gazing up at Jon.
"Sharon?" Rose inquired, puzzled.
After a heartfelt pause, Sharon looked at Jon with innocent eyes, then beamed angelically and said, "Thank you, Jon, thank you for everything you've done!"

Chapter 169: Blood Debt
'Huh?!'
Jon was taken aback when he heard Sharon's words. He had just used a device called a neuralyzer to wipe their memories, specifically everything since they had arrived in the eerie town of Silent Hill. In the new set of memories Jon had provided for them, he had deliberately left out his own name. So, how could Sharon possibly remember who he was?
As he watched Rose and Sharon walk away, Jon couldn't shake off a nagging thought: "Does Sharon still remember? Did the neuralyzer not work on her?"
It dawned on him that Sharon wasn't just anyone. She had been born from the soul of another being named Alessa, making her quite unique. It seemed likely then that the neuralyzer had no effect on her, and that's why she still knew who Jon was.
Jon remembered the first time he met Sharon; it was on a subway. Even then, she had shown signs of being extraordinary. She had dreamed of her fate and knew that her mother would end up trapped in Silent Hill while trying to rescue her, which led her to seek Jon's help.
But now, Jon didn't want to dwell on these thoughts. His focus was on taking down every member of the church involved in this mess.
With Alessa now his follower, she became part of him now. As far as Jon was concerned, those involved with the church had it coming. His priority was to take care of his new follower, which meant ensuring those who had wronged her were dealt with.
***
Inside the church, the scene was nothing short of a nightmare. What was once a place of worship had turned into a scene straight out of purgatory. Every church member was in agony.
Pain and despair were etched on the faces of those trapped inside, as flames blocked every exit and the ground beneath them burned like the surface of hell itself. It seemed everyone was on the edge of being engulfed by the fire.
Yet, amidst the chaos, there was one who stood unaffected, her face not showing any signs of pain but rather, a twisted sense of joy and satisfaction.
She was Alessa's mother.
Laughing wildly, she took in the sight of the church members' suffering with glee. "Hahahaha! Do you feel it? Even a fraction of the agony my daughter went through? You deserve every bit of this pain, all of you hypocrites deserve to suffer just like this, hahahahahhahahaha!"
Her laughter echoed through the church as she watched the members struggle desperately, all of whom had played a part in her daughter's demise.
Christabella, trying to regain some control, pointed shakily at Alessa's mother and accused, "You follower of the devil! He has abandoned you, leaving you unprotected!"
Alessa's mother met her gaze and retorted, "So what? Seeing you meet your end is worth everything to me, even my own life!"
In desperation and anger, Christabella commanded, "Kill her now!"
Fueled by their own resentment towards Alessa's mother and facing their doom, the church members moved to attack her.
But as they made contact, they were instantly repelled by a burst of flame.
Alessa's mother was under Jon's protection, marked as the one innocent soul amidst the guilty. Thus, while the hellfire did not touch her, it lashed out at those who dared to harm her.
"The devil is her shield!" Christabella exclaimed, her voice trembling with fear, "Oh God, help your servant! The devil prevails, and we are rendered powerless against his might!"
At that moment, the flames around the door parted, and Jon walked through, almost as if the fire itself was wary of him.
"Looks like your God has left you to fend for yourselves," Jon taunted.
Christabella, trembling but defiant, pointed at Jon and demanded, "You, servant of darkness, what do you plan to do?"
Jon replied with a calm that felt more chilling than the surrounding inferno, "I thought I'd be the one to deal with you. But it appears there's someone far more fitting for that role."
Confused and alarmed, Christabella asked, "What are you talking about?"
With a cold laugh, Jon retorted, "The so-called Devil you fear so much, Alessa, whom you condemned to flames. By burning an innocent girl, haven't you shown who the true devils are?"
Christabella defended her actions with fervor, "Alessa was a curse upon us from the start. Her presence turned Silent Hill into a place of damnation. And now, you, an outsider, have defiled the last of our sanctity. Haven't you taken enough? What more do you want?"
Jon's reply was a cold smirk. "What I want? It's time for a blood debt to be paid, your fate is sealed."
As the words left his lips, a shadow detached from Jon, gradually taking the shape of a young girl in a purple dress. Despite her angelic appearance, there was a sorrow and chill in her eyes that belied her youth.
"Alessa~!" The surprise and joy in Alessa's mother's voice were unmistakable.
The church members, however, were struck with terror at the sight of the girl.
"De-de-devil," stammered one, before Alessa, with a simple wave of her hand, unleashed dark energy that snapped his neck in an instant.
"Oh God, what have we done? Alessa~!" Alessa's mother was torn. She longed for justice, yet the sight of her daughter enacting such vengeance stirred a conflict within her heart.
Chaos erupted in the church as everyone desperately sought escape, but they were trapped by Jon's hellish barrier. No soul could pass.
Alessa lifted her hands, and dark energy swirled and rose, enveloping the church like a sinister cloud. One by one, the trapped members met their end, some impaled by dark energy, others strangled by invisible forces. The massacre was ruthless and absolute.
At the heart of the carnage stood Alessa, her expression cold and detached, watching as her vengeance unfolded.
"Alessa, why? How did this happen to you?" Her mother approached, voice quivering with emotion.
Alessa paused, seemingly caught by her mother's words, then intensified her assault, ensuring the swift demise of all within. Without a glance back, she merged back into Jon.
"Let's go," she said, voice as cold as the energy she wielded.
"Will you not say goodbye to your mother?" Jon queried.
"Just go," Alessa repeated, firm and devoid of hesitation. Despite becoming a being of vengeance, she had spared her mother, the very person who had delivered her to her fate. Yet, forgiveness remained a bridge too far.
