Bab 62: “Strange girl”

"In the Libertarian Fighters we used peaceful means, when they left the organization saying that such means were useless against the World Government, I never thought they would cooperate with the Fire Demon" Ken said in disbelief.

"Their methods are extreme violence! I slaughtered 10 marine ships, and almost destroyed the Kingdom of Ilisia! Not even the castle was left standing" added Ken as he looked cautiously at Yamamoto.

The atmosphere fell into an awkward silence, the only thing that could be heard was Ken's hectic breathing.

Yamamoto had a strange expression on his face, he did not expect that the first thing he would find on this island would be someone slandering him, although nothing of what this man said was a lie.

Dragon had told him about the Libertarian Fighters, they used peaceful means, they got normal people on their side, and tried to make changes from the social, not through war.

Yamamoto never did such a thing when he encountered the Marine or the World Government, but this one was due to a simple reason, they were the first to attack.

But the World Government had taken it upon itself to end Yamamoto's reputation and brand him as evil, what surprised him was that this doctor who belonged to an organization against the World Government had swallowed his speech.

"It's a misunderstanding Ken! The World Government sent a buster call to Ohara, you already know that, what would you have done in their place?" said Ivankov trying to calm the waters.

"That may be true... but the kingdom of Ilisia?" asked Ken with a raised eyebrow.

"In the newspaper, it didn't come out, but Yamamoto saved a lot of slaves. In that kingdom, there were a lot of Slave Shops, and the nobility themselves knew of its existence and promoted it" replied Kuma in a calm tone.

Ken was silent, looking for something else to cast doubt on Yamamoto, after a few seconds he said, "He killed a World Noble, although I don't like those bastards, murdering one will make the Government put all their energies into hunting him down."

"It will only make the first steps of his new organization more difficult" he added.

Yamamoto listened to this as he scratched his beard, he wasn't angry. He wasn't even bothered by what this bald man said about him. In some parts he is right, killing a World Noble is like declaring war on the World Government, not a very wise decision.

But, Yamamoto was already being hunted by the World Government since he and the other archaeologists had investigated the Void Century a crime equal to the previous one or worse.

For that is something the World Government wants to hide at all costs, not the life of a useless World Noble. So adding Pluming's murder to his list didn't change his scenario much.

"It may be true, that having murdered a World Noble puts more attention on us and the new organization, but it was time for someone to do something. They can't just go as they please buying slaves in broad daylight in a kingdom" Dragon said in support of Yamamoto.

"Ugh okay, I don't want to argue anymore, but have it known that every step they make will have the entire Cipher Pol behind them" said Ken waving his hand.

"I knew that from the day I had in mind to create the Revolutionary Army. So will you cure the patient?" asked Dragon.

"Is he on the ship?" asked Ken.

"No, moving him from the island in that state would be dangerous" replied Ivankov.

"I'm sorry, but no. I'm old now, making trips back and forth is not easy on my weak bones" said Ken while touching his back.

Yamamoto looking at Ken's bad act thought if he should turn this bald man into ashes.

"Come on Ken..." said Ivankov as he thought of something that could make Ken change his mind.

"No, Ivankov! No is no. In the past, I would unhesitatingly carry out Dragon's orders, but now I am no longer under his command," Ken said stubbornly.

Before Dragon could say anything, a female scream was heard, "I'll do it! Take me, my medical skills are better than this old cheapskate's."

Yamamoto turned his head and noticed a young woman come out from behind some large boxes, she had been hiding listening to the conversation.

The girl had black hair cut short with a long fringe, adorned with a butterfly hairpin on the left side of her hair. Her eyes were pinkish.

As for her attire, she wore a simple white shirt with long sleeves, a black tie, and a wide and high black skirt. Her attire is completed with black gloves stockings and red heels.

"Yosano what are you doing eavesdropping on other people's conversations! Go home!" exclaimed Ken angrily at the sight of the girl.

"Tsch shut up baldy, Where's your doctor pride?" said the girl named Yosano as she approached Yamamoto and the others.

"Who are you calling bald! Is that any way to address your grandfather?" exclaimed Ken indignantly.

"Oh Yosano-chan how long, you sure have grown up!" said Ivankov with a big smile.

"Travesti-san it's been a long time! So has Dragon and Kuma" said Yosano as she greeted everyone.

*Who are you calling a transvestite brat!* Ivankov thought angrily.

"So..." said Yosano as she looked at Yamamoto and stood in front of him.

"Nice to meet you Fire Demon! I'm a big fan of yours! It was amazing when you killed that rear admiral, you took out even his eyes, wonderful" Yosano said with a look of madness.

Yamamoto had a blank expression, they knew that on this trip he would meet his first admirer, the strangest thing was that she was the granddaughter of someone who seemed to hate him, *What's wrong with this family* thought Yamamoto as he looked at Yosano.

"Does she still have those tendencies?" asked Ivankov in a low tone as he approached Ken.

"Yes... try anyway, but nothing works" replied Ken in a defeated tone.

"Thank you..." replied Yamamoto not knowing what to say.

"Please let me follow him! I can cure that person!" said Yosano while bowing 90 degrees.

"Damn brat! Why are you so polite to him? Instead, with me all you do is disobey me" said Ken angrily.

Yosano made deaf hate and was still waiting in the same position for Yamamoto's answer.

*Another follower? Just like that?" thought Yamamoto in disbelief.

"If you're a doctor, we'll welcome you with open hands" Yamamoto replied.

"That's great! I won't let you down, my medical skills are much better than that old man's" said Yosano with a very big smile, but more than cute, it looked like crazy.

"Absolutely not! You're not going anywhere!" said Ken angrily.

"Huh?" said Yosano as she looked at Ken, her previous look of admiration changing to a look of anger and disdain.

*How can she change her expression so easily* thought Yamamoto.

"Old man I already turned 18 1 month ago, I could do whatever I please, if I keep staying on this tiny island, my skills will stagnate" said Yosano with a frown.

Ken didn't mind the tone and angry look Yosano gave him, as he was used to it.

"Do you know that following the Fire Demon will turn you into a wanted criminal all over the world? It will be super dangerous!" said Ken trying to change Yosano's mind.

"That's the best part! Imagine how many seriously injured people I'll be able to heal, just thinking about it..." said Yosano with a smile.

*I hope I made the right decision...* thought Yamamoto, while Ken and Yosano were still arguing, he quickly opened the status window, and he noticed that the people under his protection increased from 27 to 28.

*Seriously agreed to follow me...* thought Yamamoto in disbelief.

"I guess the trip was a success" said Ivankov in a strange tone.

"Yes..." said Kuma as he looked at Ken and Yosano arguing.

"Hey Dragon say something!" said Ken as he looked at Dragon.

"You heard her. Yosano is an adult now, she can decide her path" said Dragon.

Yosano put on a triumphant smile and approached the place where she had hidden before, from there she took out a backpack and a bag, "For me let's go now" said Yosano.

*This brat already had everything prepared...* thought Ken with a vein on his forehead sticking out.

"Can you still hold the barrier or shall we rest for a while longer?" asked Dragon looking at Yamamoto.

"I can hold on, let's go. Time is precious to Lego" said Yamamoto as he climbed back on the ship.

He didn't even say goodbye to Ken as he had been slandering him since he arrived.

Yosano, his granddaughter didn't look like she wanted to say goodbye either, "Wait brat!" shouted Ken as he noticed Yosano's back.

"What's wrong?" asked Yosano without much patience.

"Tsch that temper of yours...you're just like your mother. Here this belonged to her, she sure wanted you to take it with you" said Ken as he tossed her a pocket watch.

Yosano caught it in the air, and looked at it attentively, "This was mother's..." whispered Yosano, she remembered that, in old pictures of her parents, her mother wore this pocket watch around her neck.

"You could have given it to me sooner, baldy" said Yosano as she stuck her tongue out at him and began to walk hurriedly to the ship.

"Ungrateful girl!" spat Ken.

Dragon, Kuma, and Ivankov said goodbye to Ken.

"One last thing Dragon, be careful from now on. On every island in West Blue they are doing checks, a few days ago marines came to this island, and after an intense check of the villagers, they finally left" said Ken warning him.

"Ok, thanks for the information" Dragon nodded as he turned and walked to the ship.

"Bye bye baldy, I'll make good use of the skills you taught me!" said Yosano waving to Ken with a smile.

"I already surpassed you though!" she added emphasizing this a lot.

The ship set sail, and as they arrived they left, but now they had a new medic. And to Yamamoto's luck, he decided to follow him, so he gained 1 more follower without much effort.

If it had been Ken who had followed them, he would not have gained any new followers, as he seemed to hate them. Not because of anything in particular, but because they had different views. One was a pacifist, the other was willing to respond using the same violent methods.

His granddaughter seemed to see things the same way Yamamoto did, which was odd, but better for Yamamoto.

Bab 63: “Payday and healing”

The outward journey was completed without any problems. As Yamamoto was concentrating on giving spiritual energy to the barrier, he was unable to converse with anyone. When he reached the fog he was finally able to deactivate the barrier.

When the ship docked at the port, Yamamoto noticed how people were arriving to welcome them, the first one he saw was Ralph who was all sweaty.

He had been training near the village and when Apis started shouting that Yamamoto had arrived, he ran as fast as he could.

Yamamoto came down followed by Dragon and the others. Yosano looked at the harbor and the people curiously, it was her first time leaving the island she lived on with Ken.

"Hello everyone, were you able to find the doctor?" asked Ralph approaching Yamamoto and the others.

"Yes, it's this girl, her name is Yosano" replied Yamamoto as he looked at the black-haired girl.

"What such a young girl?" asked Ralph doubting that someone at such a young age could be a doctor.

Hearing this Yosano frowned and looked angrily at Ralph, "What's wrong with you curly? Do you want to fight?" said Yosano as she aggressively approached Ralph.

Ralph was surprised by the girl's sudden aggressiveness backed up a few steps, as he looked at Yosano intently.

"Take my stuff and I'll save your partner" Yosano said as she handed him her backpack and bag.

*Why is this bag so heavy?* thought Ralph as he shouldered the bag and backpack.

"You better not make her angry, her temper is a bit... aggressive" whispered Ivankov in Ralph's ear.

Yamamoto quickly greeted Apis and Robin and headed with everyone else to Clover's house, where Lego was. He wanted to see Yosano's medical skills with his eyes.

The door to Clover's house opened, "Come in quickly" Clover said.

"Lego's condition got worse these days" he added regretfully.

Arriving at Lego's room, Yosano started to inspect him she could see all the serious wounds he had on his body, and Yamamoto could swear he saw a smile on Yosano's face.

"Will you be able to cure him?" asked Ralph as he entered the room, set the bag and backpack on the floor, and walked over to the bed where Lego was lying.

"Yes, that he's in this almost dead state, makes things easier for me" said Yosano with a strange smile.

"This is serious, Lego's life is at stake!" shouted Ralph angrily.

"Shhh shut up curly and let me work" said Yosano as she sat down on a chair near Lego's bed.

Everyone watched curiously, waiting to see what Yosano would do in this situation where she didn't pull out any of her medical tools.

Yosano, with her usual calm expression, closed her eyes and reached out her hand to Lego's injured body. Her hand glowed with a golden gleam.

*Don't tell me... Devil's fruit?* thought Yamamoto in surprise.

Everyone else was just as surprised as Yamamoto, even Dragon, Ivankov, and Kuma who already knew Yosano, but didn't know she possessed the power of a devil fruit.

As Yosano's hand touched the wounds on the layman's body he had healed them at an almost unimaginably fast rate. Wounds and injuries began to close. Skin and tissues were regenerating rapidly, restoring Lego's health.

Yosano began to use her other hand, from which also glowed a golden sparkle, thus increasing the healing speed. The black-haired girl kept her concentration, her eyes were narrowed.

Everyone looked at the scene with their mouths half open, *What kind of healing ability is that?* thought Yamamoto, only seconds passed and Lego who was on the verge of death before was already without wounds, even the color of his face began to improve.

Finally, when Lego's wounds were completely healed, Yosano withdrew her hand let out a sigh of relief, and wiped the sweat from her forehead.

"That should do it, his pulse is also back to normal" Yosano said as she took Lego's pulse.

"He'll wake up any minute" she added as she stood up from the chair.

"You Yosano-chan have a devil fruit!?" exclaimed Ivankov with his mouth open wide in surprise.

"Yes, I got it recently and I could never use it on humans, I had to experiment on animals" replied Yosano.

*Experimenting on animals?" thought Yamamoto with pity for the poor animals.

"Animals!? You're not a good person!" said Apis angrily as she looked at Yosano.

Yosano looked at Apis and to the surprise of many, she smiled warmly, "No, I only used rats and I never killed them, as my ability heals them, although I did have to hurt them badly, poor things" said Yosano.

Apis ran out of the room, "Mm Did I say something wrong?" asked Yosano.

*What you did was worse than killing them...* thought Yamamoto.

"You said seriously wounded, doesn't your ability allow you to heal lighter wounds?" asked Dragon.

"Exactly, it gives me the ability to heal all kinds of external physical injuries or serious wounds, so the patient to be able to use the ability must be half dead like this guy" replied Yosano while pointing at Lego.

"What an incredible power" nodded Ivankov.

*To know that, she had to have poisoned mice and cut them into pieces...* they all thought with blank expressions.

"Although if I have the patient's severed limb in good condition, I might be able to put it together somehow... I should experiment" whispered Yosano with a crazed look on her face.

As everyone looked strangely at Yosano, Lego started to move slowly, his eyes widened with difficulty, "Where...am I?" asked Lego.
