Within minutes, the sound of sirens filled the air as a firetruck rushed to the scene. Firefighters donned their protective gear and swiftly began tackling the flames, using hoses to douse the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
Meanwhile, Takashi stood outside along with Hiroki and his wife.
Hiroki glanced at the firefighters, who were making progress in controlling the blaze. "Let's hope they can contain the fire soon and prevent any further damage."
Takashi nodded in agreement, his attention still on the firefighters working diligently inside the apartment. "Yes, I hope so too. It's heartbreaking to see my home like this, but I suppose it's a small price to pay for my carelessness."
Hiroki placed a reassuring hand on Takashi's shoulder. "Accidents happen, Takashi. What's important now is that you're safe, and we'll help you through this."
Sayuri, Hiroki's wife, chimed in, "Yes, we'll be here for you. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask."
"Thank you both. But I'll figure something out."
Once the fire was finally extinguished, Takashi stepped into the charred remains of his apartment. It was a devastating sight. Furniture and belongings were reduced to ashes, and the walls were blackened by the flames.
Takashi sighed, and began to look for Playful Cloud. It was on the floor, with black spots all over it. He carefully picked up the staff, examining if there was any damage on it. Of course, there was no damage on it, apart from the ash that covered its surface. Takashi was relieved to see that Playful Cloud had withstood the fire without any harm. He knew that cursed weapons like Playful Cloud were durable, but seeing it unscathed still brought him a sense of comfort.
'I really need an inventory...should I steal that cursed spirit from Geto?'
Takashi thought, while shaking his head as he recalled the events that happened when Geto fought Yuta. That ugly cursed spirit probably died when Geto used Uzumaki, so he dismissed that idea.
"Kazura."
Takashi whispered, calling out to his newly named cursed spirit. In a flash of red, Kazura appeared, perching on a nearby piece of debris.
Patting it gently on its feathered head, Takashi said, "Let's go, Kazura, I'm curious to see the progress on the academy's construction."
With a chirp, black energy enveloped them as they disappeared. In the blink of an eye, Takashi and Kazura were transported to the academy.
Once Takashi saw the progress that has been made since his last visit, which was only a day ago or so, he couldn't help but be amazed at the cursed spirits efficiency.
'I wonder why Geto didn't use them like this?'
"Kazura, you and the other cursed spirits are doing an incredible job. I'm grateful for your help," Takashi said, patting Kazura affectionately.
With a soft chirp, Kazura seemed to acknowledge Takashi's praise. As Takashi was patting the bird, a very bulky cursed spirit with a menacing aura appeared before them. It was a Semi-Grade 1 cursed spirit, who was intelligent enough to hold conversations.
"Welcome back, Headmaster."
As Takashi greeted the Semi-Grade 1 cursed spirit, he noticed the aura of authority and loyalty in its demeanor. He smiled and responded, "Thank you. How's the construction going, Hiro?"
Hiro, the cursed spirit, nodded respectfully. "Everything is proceeding smoothly. The other cursed spirits are working diligently, and we're making good progress on the main building and training grounds. It won't be long before the Cursed Yokai Academy is fully operational."
"That's great to hear. Keep up the good work, Hiro. I appreciate all your efforts," Takashi praised.
Hiro seemed to puff up with pride at the acknowledgment. "Thank you, Headmaster. We are honored to be a part of this academy."
"Ah, right. Is my room ready yet?" Takashi asked, realizing that with his apartment now in ruins, he needed a place to stay during the academy's construction
Hiro nodded, "Yes, Headmaster. May I lead you there?"
"Yes." Takashi replied with a nod.
As they walked through the academy, they finally arrived at the room made for Takashi. It was a modest space, but it had all the essentials - a bed, a desk, and a small seating area. The cursed spirits had done their best to make it comfortable.
"Thank you, Hiro. This will do just fine. You may leave now." Takashi said.
Hiro bowed respectfully. "You're welcome, Headmaster. If there's anything else you need, please don't hesitate to ask."
With Hiro's departure, Takashi found himself alone in the room with Kazura. With a soft chirp, Kazura hopped onto a nearby perch, settling down and observing Takashi with its intelligent red eyes.
As Takashi sat on the bed, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. As he planned his next steps, Takashi's thoughts drifted towards Gojo Satoru. With the unexpected changes in the cursed spirit's strength, he wondered how Gojo reacted.
'Haah, will I have to fight him in the future? Well, at least, things won't be boring.'
As Takashi was contemplating, he suddenly felt a buzz in his mind, and he opened his eyes to find a system notice before him.
