Jordan wasted no time after the call ended and asked, "Do you think she is on our side?"

Without hesitation, I replied, "No," and he responded with a reassuring smile, placing his palm on mine.

"You are very smart, sweetheart. The Queen of the Nights doesn't have your best interests at heart, and I know her well. The main issue between both of you goes beyond you getting close to her son, Stan Morgan.

The Queen of the Nights is shamelessly hiding something else," Jordan explained. "Do not be afraid of anyone, and do not fall for any sudden friendships. Our world consists of just two people - you and me. Let's trust only ourselves," he advised as we began our breakfast, his left hand firmly holding my left palm.

Suddenly, another call came in. Jordan quickly inserted one of his earbuds, and I followed suit even though he didn't ask me to. I knew he wouldn't object.
