Bab 56: The Strange Object

"One of my friends has a similar mark," Jordan stated, observing my reaction. I shrugged, unsure which of his friends he was referring to. I didn't know any of his friends.

"This birthmark looks like a symbol of duty."

"Perhaps your friend and I have a mission to accomplish together when we grow up," I said childishly.

"I love adventure, and I would like to be a part of it," Jordan joked, and we both giggled. Jordan concentrated on the new novel he was creating while my eyes remained on the golden flames that danced before us.

"Let's go and change clothes and get some sleep," Jordan suggested, putting his writing materials back when he got tired. He lifted me up from the ground and guided me towards the tent.

"I will read your novels when I learn how to read," I murmured.

"Don't worry, I'll teach you how to read," Jordan said with a wild grin.
