Bab 28: Show them true talent!!
- Location: Japan, At the UA entrance gate
[POV: Third-Person]
"Are you nervous?" Jihye grinned as she felt Henri's shaky hands, but Henri merely smiled as she looked at the UA building.
"I'm excited! I cannot wait to see their faces as they look in awe at the great Henriette Adelheid V. Heinrich!" Henri exclaimed as she raised her arms towards the sky; her eyes glittered with joy.
"So you just want to show off?" Jihye chuckled as she dragged her into the school. "That's not something a hero would usually say, you know." Jihye couldn't help but find her prideful girlfriend adorable as Henri pouted.
"Sorry about that, but I figured you wouldn't mind me catching you," a girl with auburn hair said as she made a kid with messy hair float to stop him from falling.
"It's that guy again..." Jihye recognized the boy from that one incident at the district center involving a slime villain.
Suddenly, Bakugo went past the messy-haired boy as if he was ignoring him.
"Hey... isn't that..." Jihye suddenly grinned as she walked forward, with Henri following.
"I knew it! It's you again!!" As Bakugo heard Jihye's voice, his blood suddenly started boiling as he turned around with veins growing on his forehead.
"Hah! It's that loser bully again!" Henri chuckled as she placed her elbow on Jihye's shoulder.
"YOU B*TCH!" Bakugo exclaimed, his face contorting due to anger.
"K-Kacchan!" The messy-haired boy tried to interrupt him, but it only made him angrier as he pushed him away.
"Outta the way, nerd!" Bakugo said as he approached Jihye.
"H-Hey! What do you think you're doing? Fighting isn't allowed on campus," the girl with auburn hair exclaimed as she saw the situation in front of her.
Bakugo just stared at the grinning Jihye as he spoke, "You better watch yourself... I will pay you back for what you did to me." Bakugo gritted his teeth as he walked away.
"You too, nerd! I'm getting sick of seeing your face, so just give up now before you embarrass yourself," Bakugo kicked the floor as he continued walking towards the UA building.
"Don't worry about that idiot," Jihye chuckled as she walked up to the boy with messy hair.
"While I appreciate the sentiment, I'd appreciate it if you don't call Kacchan an idiot," the messy-haired kid said as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Do you know that loser?" Henri suddenly asked as she crossed her arms. "Y-yes... Kacchan and I used to be friends," he said as he looked down at the floor.
"My name is Kurosawa Jihye. What's yours?" Jihye said as she extended her hand for a handshake.
The messy-haired kid nervously shook her hand as he replied, "I'm Midoriya Izuku." Midoriya said, nervously looking away.
"How about you? What's your name?" Jihye asked as she looked at the girl with auburn hair.
"Oh umm, I'm Uraraka Ochako," she said as she accepted Jihye's handshake, which somehow irked Henri as she forcefully pulled Uraraka's hand.
"My name is Henriette Adelheid V. Heinrich. You'd best not forget that," Henri said in a threatening tone as Uraraka sweated.
"Enough of that, Henri," Jihye said as she lifted Henri up by her jacket.
"H-Hey! I'm watching you, Uraraka Ochako!!" Henri said as she shook her body around.
Izuku and Uraraka looked at each other as they nervously smiled.
"Well then, Midoriya, Uraraka... It was nice meeting you two, but we probably need to get going; the orientation about the exams should start soon," Jihye smiled while letting go of Henri as she lightly punched her on the shoulder.
"You're so mean!" Henri pouted as she started walking ahead while stomping.
"I have to go after her... see ya," Jihye waved them goodbye as she went after Henri.
"Those two... were certainly unique, weren't they?" Uraraka said as she looked at Jihye and Henri's figures running towards the UA building.
"That's true... I've never met anyone who truly angered Kacchan like that without being scared of him," Midoriya said as he started walking as well.
"I've gotta go too," he said as he moved forward.
"Let's go together! The orientation should be in that building, right?" Midoriya and Uraraka chatted as they entered the building, with Midoriya blushing in front of her from time to time.
...
"Now, let's talk about those practical exams, ARE YOU READY?!" Present Mic exclaimed as silence filled the auditorium.
Suddenly, Midoriya started muttering to himself as he talked about Present Mic, making Bakugo even angrier as he sat next to him.
"You will have ten-minute mock battles in a set suburban setting. After I drop the mic, you will head to your specialized battle centers! Sound good?" Present Mic said as everyone checked their battle centers.
"Hey, Jihye, what battle center did you get?" Henri asked with a nervous tone.
"I'm in battle center B..." Jihye said as she looked at her card.
"Damn it!! Why did I have to be in battle center C?!" Henri tried her best not to scream in anger.
"Okay, okay, let's check out your targets...." Present Mic started explaining the different types of enemies in each battle center.
"But check it! Be sure to keep things heroic! Attacking other examinees is a UA no-no, ya dig?" Present Mic continued explaining as he pointed his finger towards the crowd.
"Excuse me, sir, but I have a question!" A taller boy with glasses stood up and asked a question about the printed handouts.
"Additionally, you with the unkempt hair! You've been muttering this entire time..." He said, making Midoriya embarrassed as he felt that he was being called out.
"The fourth enemy is worth zero points! That guy's just an obstacle we'll be throwing your way!"
"I recommend my listeners to ignore it and focus on the ones at the top of the chart!!" He exclaimed as the boy with glasses accepted the answer, making him sit down.
"You ready to go beyond? LET'S HEAR A PLUS ULTRA!!" Present Mic exclaimed, making everyone excited as they went to their respective battle centers.
"Jihye!" Henri exclaimed, stopping Jihye from moving as she looked back at Henri.
"Show them true talent!! Let's ace this test!!" Henri exclaimed with pride as she walked towards her battle district.
"I guess I can't let you down," Jihye chuckled as she walked towards the changing room in battle center B.
...
"Kurosawa?" Uraraka asked as she saw Jihye in the changing room.
"Don't worry too much about formalities; everyone just calls me Jihye," she replied as she tied her dark blue shoes.
"Let's give it our best, shall we?" Uraraka said as she finished changing.
"I feel like Henri's rubbing off on me. I actually feel excited about this whole thing," Jihye said as she grabbed a black jacket from her bag.
As she put it on, the image of a white tiger fiercely fighting a black dragon was shown on the back of her jacket.
"Let's show them all..." Jihye said as she took a step towards the gate of the exams.
