Compared to the aged wine, the newly brewed batch was sweeter and had a lower alcohol content. It was perfect for women and children. But she didn't want her children to have alcohol before they became adults, so she gave them honey water instead.

Raising her cup, she said, "Uncle Pan, Aunt Pan, Second Aunt, this is osmanthus wine, one of my homemade brews. Please have a try."

After speaking, she took a sip before setting her cup down. Following her lead, the Pan family tasted the wine. As soon as they took a sip, Mother Pan and the second aunt's eyes lit up.

Having frequented high society circles' banquets, they had tasted imported red wines and expensive government-produced liquors. Yet, compared to this osmanthus wine, those seemed like cheap imitations.

Noticing their reactions, Lu Jueyu smiled and said, "If Aunt Pan and Second Aunt enjoy it, I still have some left in the cellar. You can take a bottle home to savor later."
