Bab 459: What a Shame

After playing with the children for a while, Lu Jueyu went to help Chen Anwen harvest vegetables. Since they used pig manure as fertilizer, the vegetables grew faster and more luxuriantly than usual. While other people's vegetables are still growing, their vegetables are ready for harvest.

Unlike Lu Jueyu, who grows many vegetables, the Lu family's yard grows corn, sweet potatoes, potatoes, chinese spinach, bitter melons, and chili peppers.

At the moment, Chinese spinach and chili peppers are ready for harvest, while the rest will have to wait until summer. Although they don't grow a lot, these can be added to their food ration so they have enough to eat until next year's harvest.
