Lu Jueyu stood at the door until she could no longer see her husband's back, then returned to the house. She washed the dishes first, then went to the chicken coop to get eggs and refilled the feeder and water. Later, she carried another bucket of water to water the vegetable garden and peach tree and sweep the yards.

It took her an hour to finish the house chores. Since it was still early, she went to the backyard, got a bamboo basket, and left the house after locking the door. After going up the mountain last time, she found that mushrooms and wild fruits were growing thrivingly. She might get more mushrooms today.

When she reached the mountain foothills, she met several children picking up pigweeds on the side of the road. When they saw her heading towards the mountain, one of them shouted, "Sister, don't go up the mountain. The team leader said there are wild boars there and it's dangerous for us to go there."
