Bab 98: Feelings

The Duke's gaze darted from the king to the general, then to the queen and her guards, and his face paled.

"You can't disrespect my queen in our own castle, and certainly not in my presence. Kneel now to save your head. We will talk after that."

Duke Malthus saw the look in his eyes, and he knew for sure that there was no way he would escape it. He would have to kneel to a human, an inferior being. The thought annoyed him.

But having no choice, he hesitantly went to stand in front of Luciana. His gaze met her daring and unwavering one. He challenged her with his eyes, but he seemed to be losing terribly. In the next moment, he dropped to his knees.

There was a look of surprise on his face. He didn't know the moment he knelt. It was as if he was pulled down by an invisible force. He then tried to get up, but it felt like his body was too heavy for him to carry. He looked up, and saw that her gaze was still on him.
