Bab 30: Chapter 30: Unknown Number

That night, Royce took me to another restaurant, this time the two of us delving into Mexican. The whole place smelled fantastic, with mariachi playing throughout the restaurant. A bar was in the middle of the place, and we watched as our bartender made our frozen margarita orders. I'd never been in the last two years, but after, we left with some doggy bags.

Royce had driven to pick me up at the bar, so we made our way to his car, and I thanked him as he opened the door for me.

Though everything in my body kept screaming at me to leave the state, I couldn't help but stay. My heart was pulling me towards Royce, and it just wouldn't stop screaming. My brain, however, kept trying to give me reasons to run. The dreams, my brain would say, they're a warning.

But seeing texts from Royce in the mornings, going out with him in town, and how my heart reacted every moment I was with him, I didn't have any desire to leave and run.
