“Doctor Nico Keating, how can I help you?”

I rolled my eyes as I moved some books back onto my bookshelf. “You know that I’m the one who’s calling you. You do this every single time.”

“Because it bothers you, and it’s fun.”

“Sometimes I wonder if I chose the right friend,” I mused, replacing the last book on the bottom shelf.

“Oi you git, you better be joking!” Nico raised his voice, but I laughed at his reaction as always.

“You’re too easy, you know that?” I asked him between laughs.

“Don’t let the ladies know, Royce. I’ve been trying to keep that a secret for ages.”

We broke into another fit of stupid laughter. 

“What’s going on, Nico?” I asked once we’d calmed down. I went to my room to finish putting away the laundry I’d done earlier. It was something I did when I was nervous. Some people cleaned houses. Some people meditated. I washed my clothes and reorganized my closet.
