It is now nighttime in the abandoned district of Aeulwuin, and a woman is walking down the surprisingly busy street. Nighttime in the slums is when work begins seeing as most of the work that these people would be perceived as bad or immoral to any law-abiding citizens.
The woman, however, was on her way home. Her name is Lua Mack and she moved here recently for personal reasons. She decided to stay here temporarily until she got everything in check.
Her short, black hair gently shifted as she walked. Her dazzling purple eyes and naturally pale skin made her look like a star walking down the dark street. Her clothes consisted of a black leather jacket with a purple skull on the shoulder sleeve covering an all black t-shirt with black skinny jeans. And she had a natural cold stare that could freeze the Blaze over.
And she was quite blessed in the chest region some would say.
"How you doing tonight, Lua." Lua turned around at the man that called out to her.
"I'm doing good today. How are you?" She may not have been in the city for long but she had quickly become known throughout the abandoned district. Like most people in the abandoned district, Lua didn't choose to give much information other than her first name and the fact that she came to become a student adventurer. This did cause her to be quite helpful around the district though allowing her to gain quite the reputation here. Lua finished her conversation with the man and continued on her way home.
She moved here because she heard that there were a lot of abandoned buildings that she could stay in. Now, she returns to the one that she had chosen as a point of residence. It looked pretty rundown on the outside, but she had managed to make a nice home for herself here.
She had been out all day buying some important items for when she finally left the abandoned district. She was hoping to enter the Golden Lion Adventuring Academy because it was supposed to be the best in the city. Her family was against Lua going to the academy but she refused to back down until she just ran away from her family without a word.
"Remember Lua, this is only until you enter the Golden Lion. Once you get it you'll be able to stay in the dorms and everything will be just fine." Lua reassured herself and entered the broken down building.
She walked inside of her apartment and set all of her stuff down. She took off her jacket and set it down on the only table in her apartment. That's when she noticed it. Well not so much it as to him.
There was a man sleeping on her mattress like it was his own. Now, from what she knew not that many people lived in this area because they just didn't need to. Everyone in this city has enough money to avoid living in this abandoned district. People also respect other's space in these slums, Lua was pretty sure they would at least do that much.
So who was this person and how did he get into her apartment? She was sure that she was the only one that knew about this room in the building. It was a total mess after all, the fact that this room even has a ceiling was amazing.
"I should stop stalling and just wake him up." Lua said with conviction. She took a step forward, but stopped.
"That's right, I'm not at home anymore. I can't just walk up to him and shove him awake." Lua comes from a very special family. She is a daughter of the Neal Galinell bloodline and thus suffers for it.
Neal Galinell was the name of the man that defeated the Prince of Darkness, Gregamor, all alone. Though, him being alone was not a choice that he made simply a burden that he was forced to bare. Years before his battle with Gregamor Neal had many friends and was quite powerful as well. Everything changed, however, when Gregamor decided that it would be fun to inflict Neal with a curse of death. The curse killed everything and anything that was around the man.
Neal then went down into a cycle of self hatred and loneliness that he felt the only cure to be killing the bastard that had done him wrong. Thus, sending him on his journey of isolation and vengeance for many long years.
His curse also ridded him of the ability to have children the normal way. Luckily, Neal learned of a ritual that he could do that wouldn't get rid of his curse for future generations, but it would at least weaken it so that they could still function in society.
All of this leads to the current situation that Lua is in and causing her to be unable to awaken the stranger by getting touching him in any way. Maybe she should throw something at him to wake him up?
"No no no, that would make him mad at me and he might try to attack me. I don't know how strong he is so I shouldn't take a risk like that." She could make a loud noise outside to startle him awake.
"Not that either, I may be the only one in this building, but their are still other people around and that would make me look weird and suspicious." Lua let out a deep sigh as she truly didn't know what to do in these kinds of situations.
"I'm too tired to deal with this tonight. I guess I'll let him sleep for the night and deal with it in the morning." Lua went into one of the bags that she had and pulled a blanket and pillow out. She went to the opposite corner of the room and set up a small sleeping space before drifting off to sleep.
…
Mill's eyes slowly opened as the Blaze shined in through the window of the abandoned apartment that he stayed in last night. Honestly, he had more worries now than he had before he met Pierce in his dream. He now knows that the Ancient Disaster was not destroyed he was only sealed and he was soon to be unsealed. Now, it was up to him to find a way to get strong enough to defeat the demon for good this time.
"At least I know that I do have an ability and a bloodline. Even if no one else believes me I will work myself to the bone to keep my promise to Pierce and to prove that I do have a powerful bloodline." Mill nodded to himself and stood up from the mattress.
"I'm surprised that no one actually lived her-Oh." Mill's eyes fell onto a beautiful young woman asleep on the floor in the fetal position. If he had to guess this was probably the owner of this apartment. If anything, Mill was more surprised that she hadn't just kicked him out during the night. It wouldn't have been the first time that I went to sleep in a bed and woke up outside.
"Since she let me sleep, I see no reason to wake her up now." Mill tried to sneak around Lua as she was still asleep and she didn't want to bother her. When Mill got closer he suddenly felt weaker.
Mill quickly jumped backwards and hugged the wall of the room as he stared at the woman that was still asleep on the floor. Did she do that? How? What was she doing that made me feel like that?
Despite the situation Mill had to admit that the woman in front of him was beautiful. He couldn't stop himself from staring at her as it caused a tingling sensation all over his body. His body was beginning to shake, actually. He didn't know what that first feeling was but he did know that right now, he was feeling excited.
Sparks of lightning started to pop around him the longer he stared at her and his body would shake and tingle more as well. He wanted to move. No, he had to move. He had to move now or he would be entranced by this woman and might do something that he would regret.
Mill took one step forward and as if a lightning bolt had hit the building directly an extremely loud crash resounded within throughout the streets. Mill had crashed hard into the wall. He didn't have any idea as to what happened. One second he was trying to rush out of the room the next he was in the wall.
"What the hell?! Why did I just go flying into the wall?" Mill pulled himself out of the wall as the tingling slowly stopped though now Mill was feeling pain. "Was that what he meant by it being based on my emotions? That old man really needs to be more clear with his explanations."
"Who's there?" Mill heard a tired voice call out behind him. He turned around and met eyes with the woman that was asleep. They sat there in silence for awhile when Mill felt the need to break this awkward tension.
"G-good morning! Wonderful weather today, right?"
