Liang Yuhan and Lian Zhiqiu were walking in silence, which strongly contrasted with the way they were traversing the mansion before meeting Wu Long.
"...Teacher, I can't say I understand you", finally, Lian Zhiqiu spoke up, throwing her walking companion a side eye.
"...", Madam Liang didn't try and dodge or gloss over the topic, knowing full well that it wouldn't work with Lian Zhiqiu, especially since she confronted her so directly. After a long pause, seeing that the latter didn't give up on receiving some kind of answer, she finally opened her mouth "...is it that frustrating?"
"Do you even have to ask?", Lian Zhiqiu groaned with borderline incredulousness, "At first I didn't want to say anything, thinking you will figure it out on your own… but recently it's getting hard to watch. What are you even so hesitant about? This is so unlike you…"
Hello, sorry it took so long to publish this chap, to be honest I first wrote the version in which he didn't leave Fen Baihu's world to acquire the bloodline, which had a completely different sequence of events, since it would have been a huge issue if he had indeed made that slip-up. But as I wrote the chapter I changed my mind and rewrote it. Then I went back and forth rewriting this chapter which resulted in a delay since I could not make up my mind on which of the paths would be a natural flow for the story, so it would not be forced. Let me give you a sample of my reasoning behind it:
Wu Long is not someone who is completely immune to mistakes, he makes them too. But he lived far too long, and his personality is far too meticulous, to make mistakes out of inexperience or negligence, the vast majority of the mistakes he makes stem from incomplete or absent information, as well as unpredictable factors beyond his control rather than overlooking something.
This mistake, at first glance was one that could fit into that description when I wrote it, since he could not have known that this or any kind of transformation would take place, and thus could not have predicted a conflict with Fen Baihu's world and the power he awakened. It seemed one of those things that would be obvious post-factum, but quite obscure before making the mistake. But as I wrote the chapter, the more I could not get rid of the sensation that not making the connection between Fen Baihu's bloodline and being inside Fen Baihu's world was not just lack of information, but carelessness and negligence. And it seemed out of character for our meticulous MC to make that kind of slip-up. I debated if I was simply idealizing Wu Long too much, since he is human and also prone to slip-ups, (which is why I went back and forth rewriting the chapter), but could not get rid of the sensation, that writing him making that mistake was forced, as I forced him to ignore that detail, which was perhaps the only relevant information that he knew about the process he was going to start. In the end, I decided to hint at the fact that he almost made that mistake and leave it at that. ^^
Anyway, TLDR, this chap was rewritten a bunch of times so it took quite a bit of time to get to you, my apologies for the inconvenience. ^^
Thank you for reading and your support as always everyone!!!
