The slums were like the darkest part of human history. People walking on the street had half-death eyes, their gaze clouded will their hardship. The situation was unchanging no matter how she tried to help during her past visits. 

She asked Luan to donate some money for the poor in the hope their living conditions would get better, but it was like a black hole for money. It needed a systematic change made by the kingdom, but she had no power to influence the king and the council right now.

Despite a careful search, they were able to locate only three more people with the same symptoms caused by the poison. It was too little for anyone to notice, and it was based on Arianell's hunch alone that something shady was happening here.
