Bab 30: Poor Unicorn

Point out any errors I made in the chapters, as I'm very lazy and sometimes can't be bothered to reread them. Also give your opinions on something I should change or add.

Note: Chapter might look a bit weird and have more errors, since I haven't had access to a PC these few days and had to write this on my phone.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The scenery of the 10th trial could be described as a dreamland. There was a grass plain, lush forests, lakes, rivers and waterfalls; and tall mountains could be seen in the distance.

However, there were no creatures, unlike what one would expect from such a beautiful place... None except for one.

Grazing on the healthy green grass, a pure-white horse, with a rainbow colored mane and tail, stood alone on the giant plain.

The size of the pure-white horse was the same as a regular horse. In fact, except for its unusual color, the only difference between this horse and a regular horse, was the golden horn on its head.

[Unicorn (Realm Lord)] (Rare Special Elite)

Level 25

HP 1,000,000

Feng raised an eyebrow as he looked at the Unicorn .

Although there were many horned horses in God's Domain, and some could even be a player's mount, none of them were actual Unicorns; some of them might only possess a fragment of the Unicorns' bloodline. So, they only resemble Unicorns, which were incredibly rare.

In fact, even in the Greater God's Domain, they practically don't exist. Some believe they've long gone extinct, while others believe they had escaped to some separate space.

Of course, just because they're practically extinct, that doesn't mean they were weak. In fact, most unicorns had strength comparable to dragons of the same tier; and depending on their bloodline purity, stronger than some dragons while comparable to more powerful ones, like those from the Golden Dragon tribe. Feng had once read that the first Unicorns were even comparable to Divine Dragons.

The reason the Unicorns were practically extinct despite being so strong was that the loot they dropped was incredible, even better than killing a dragon and other creatures with high life rating of the same tier and power. There were many items from the Unicorns that people would covet, but the most valuable items one could get from a Unicorn were their horns and blood.

According to legend, a below Tier 3 Unicorn's horn would be a Legendary rank material, a Tier 3 and Tier 4 Unicorn's horn a Inferior Divine rank material, and a Tier 5 and Tier 6 Unicorn's horn a Divine rank material. Moreover, they'd be top tier materials among the same rarity, and could be used as the main ingredient for forging weapons of the same rank.

As for Unicorn blood, it was able to increase a creatures life rating, and their attributes greatly; along with having the ability to get rid of most curses and problems a person may have. Aside from the use you get from directly drinking it, Unicorn blood could also be used in alchemy. A single drop during potion making could greatly increase the effects of a Craftsman rank potion; and if enough is used, one could even make a higher rank potion.

Though, Feng had no idea if any of that was true, since he had never actually seen a real Unicorn or it's loot. He had only heard information gathered by others or read about it himself; however, for all he knew, that could all be false. This was why Feng was surprised by seeing a Unicorn in the Twelve Trials; he was also curious if what he had heard was true or false .

Another reason for the Unicorns' current situation, though, was the same as the reason most Primordial Creatures are either extinct or there's little of them left. They were strong, but not strong enough. People could still group up to kill them, or a powerhouse stronger than them could just massacre their kind.

Unless they had some kind of backing, or someone among them strong enough, the only fate of such creatures who's death would bring benefits, was being hunted till, or near, extinction. Another alternative would be getting enslaved.

An example of the Primordial Beasts' opposite situation were the dragons. Despite there being a large harvest for killing dragons, there were, although a bit rare, plenty of them still roaming around everywhere. Why? It's because the dragons have the backing of the Primordial Dragon Tribe, whose leader was comparable to Primordial Gods.

Although there was still no shortage of people hunting dragons and killing them, it wasn't as bad as for the Primordial Beasts, who's hunting season was practically all year around.

Naturally, the Primordial Dragons wouldn't care if a few dragons were killed, however, if someone dared to hold a large scale hunt on them, or they were under the threat of going extinct, the Primordial Dragons would intervene and making the guilty party pay.

However, there was another reason why the Unicorns, despite being more powerful than most Primordial Beasts, had been able to be hunted without repercussions, and that was the Unicorns' inherent kind nature. Unicorns were one of the very, very, very few monsters who wouldn't attack on sight, even if you trespass their territory; avoiding all forms of confrontation.

From what Feng heard, Unicorns were so friendly towards strangers that, even if you showed up at their living space, they'd still greet you like a friend. The Unicorns were like that towards all creatures, without discriminating. Only if a Unicorn is attacked or feels threatened would it fight, and even then, unless the attacker insists on fighting and refuses to retreat, or there's a danger to its race, the Unicorn refused to kill.

It was this trait of the Unicorns' that allowed people to hunt and kill their race without even needing to fear the threat of dying; if they couldn't beat a Unicorn, they could simply retreat and plan for another day. Even when near extinction, the Unicorns merely ran and hid, trying their best to avoid fighting.

So, it was a bit weird to Feng that the 10th trial's guardian was a Unicorn; since the fabulously colored horse normally wouldn't attack him unless he provoked it first. He says normally because...

"NEIIIIGHHH"

The Unicorn neighed in anger as soon as it noticed Feng in its territory. The Unicorn lowered its head slightly, with its golden horn pointed at Feng, and stepped forward.

The next second, the Unicorn appeared in front of Feng, with its pointy horn inches from his heart.

Feng was slightly surprised at the Unicorn's sudden appearance, but he merely placed his hand on the Abyssal Blade's hilt and disappeared, reappearing above the Unicorn after using Silent Steps and slashing at its back with the now unsheathed sword.

Before Feng's strike could land, the Unicorn took a step forward to dodge it and sent a hard kick at Feng without even looking back.

Twisting in mid air, Feng avoided the Unicorn's kick, and sent a Thundering Flash at it's pure-white backside, before flipping and landing.

Sensing Feng's attack, the Unicorn hastily moved and tried to avoid the three streaks of green thunder, but as the distance between it and Feng was to small, two of the thunder streaks struck at the Unicorn.

As the two attacks were about to land, however, the Unicorn's golden horn lit up slightly, and a faint rainbow colored barrier blocked the two thunder streaks; receiving ripples across its surface as it did so.

Feng studied the rainbow colored interference that protected the Unicorn from all sides, making it impossible to harm the Unicorn unless it was destroyed.

Since all information about Unicorns was sparse, and Feng didn't do particularly a lot of research on them, he only knew the basics about them and what they were famed for. Thus, Feng had no idea how Unicorns fought, since they rarely did so in the first place, or anything about their abilities; which meant he would have to figure that out on his own, right now, as he fought the raging horse.

Looking at the rainbow barrier, Feng guessed that it was an inherit skill of the Unicorn; moreover, the movement skill it used at the beginning was most likely the same.

After all, the speed at which the Unicorn previously dodged his attacks, and the speed of its kick, was incomparable to how it suddenly appeared in front of him. So, Feng guessed that it was a skill that increased the Unicorn's speed tremendously, or a teleportation skill.

However, Feng was unsure which one of those two it is; as Feng had already seen its regular movement speed, and the increase of speed the skill would need to give to the Unicorn for it to move at a speed Feng was unable to keep up with would be a bit much for a Tier 0 creature to have. At the same time, though, Feng was fairly certain it wasn't a teleportation skill either, as it felt like the Unicorn had ran up to him, even like it had built up its charging speed by running; unlike what happens during teleportation.

Being uncertain of what kind of skill the Unicorn used, Feng decided to simply keep fighting the Unicorn and figure it out after experiencing it a few more times.

As Feng was about to charge at the Unicorn, he suddenly remembered something, and unsheathed the Purgatory's Shadow. Since his and the trial monsters' levels have dropped, and the Purgatory's Shadow could be upgraded twice with the user, Feng could use it again. Although it won't be as effective as the Abyssal Blade, it could still provide a certain amount of help in these current fights.

After going back to duel wielding, Feng dashed towards the Unicorn. The Unicorn lowered its head again as it took a step forward, immediately appearing in front of Feng with no warning. This time, though, Feng wasn't caught off guard like previously. So, with his reaction speed, he managed to block the Unicorn's horn with the Purgatory's Shadow.

Clang!

A noise resembling metal colliding sounded as the golden horn's advance was stopped by the black sword. Spider web like cracks spread on the ground below Feng's feet, as Feng felt like he had just stopped a speeding car with his bare hands.

Using the chance when the Unicorn paused after losing all of its momentum, Feng used Chop as he slashed at the Unicorn, intending to test the rainbow barrier's durability.

Ripples spread as the entire barrier shook under Feng's attack, and a gash in the rainbow barrier appeared where Feng struck it. Upon seeing the barrier's reaction to just one of Feng's slashes, the Unicorn attempted to distance itself; abounding its former idea to trade blow for blow in order to kill Feng.

Feng didn't plan to let the Unicorn create any space between them, so he immediately used Wind Blade and followed after it. It merely took a split second for Feng to close in on the Unicorn with his superior speed, using Thunder Flame Explosion to see how much of a beating the rainbow barrier could take as he reached it.

The explosion sent the Unicorn stumbling back, as cracks spread across the entire rainbow barrier; seeming like it could shatter at just a touch.

While the Unicorn was trying to stabilize itself, Feng closed in on it again and followed up with a Double Chop. The first slash from Double Chop completely shattered the entire rainbow barrier, while the second one cut towards the Unicorn.

As Feng's sword was just about to stab into the Unicorn, the horned horse took a step backwards, and reappeared ten yards away.

"So you can use it to retreat as well?" Feng commented as he looked at the Unicorn that was staring at him warily. At the moment, there was a small cut on the Unicorn's body, and a trickle of rainbow colored blood came out of it; the Unicorn's HP also decreased by 74.

At the same time, there was a line of rainbow colored liquid on the Abyssal Blade.

Although the Unicorn had used its movement skill to dodge Feng's slash, it was unable to completely get away. After all, Feng's attack speed was already very high, and with the Aura of Wind's enhancement, it was even faster. Thus, the Unicorn still received a cut while it was retreating.

Feng was surprised by how little damage he dealt, though. It should be known that not only has his strength reached the Tier 2 standard, while the Unicorn was only at the Peak of Tier 1, but the Abyssal Blade's attack power and attributes were also very high. If the Hydra, which was at the Peak of Advanced Tier 1, had received a cut like that, even if it was only an insignificant scratch, it would have received over a thousand damage; yet not even a tenth of that was dealt to the Unicorn.

After thinking about it for a moment, though, Feng found it understandable, as the Unicorn was a Realm Lord.

In God's Domain, the title of Realm Lord did not represent a monster's rank or Bloodline. Rather, it was a buff that greatly enhanced the monster's Skills and Spells. Monsters with this title also had strengthened physiques and HPs. Basically, they were Boss-like existences among monsters of the same level and rank.

Realm Lords were not particularly rare in God's Domain, but they were usually only found in Level 50-plus, resource-rich maps. They protected these resource maps, and as long as they remained in their designated maps, they could display far more combat power than monsters of the same level and rank.

Since this was the Unicorn's territory, it received a boost to all of it's aspects, so it made sense that a small cut wouldn't do a lot of damage.

As Feng was pondering over this, he noticed that the Unicorn's golden horn had lit up faintly, and a rainbow colored dot appeared on its tip. The rainbow dot started spreading and getting bigger while curving around the Unicorn. A second later, the rainbow barrier that Feng just broke formed, protecting the Unicorn once again.

Feng didn't attempt to stop the barrier's reforming process, and instead watched curiously. After all, he had just confirmed that he could break the rainbow barrier with relative ease.

Although the rainbow barrier could block a few attacks at the Basic Tier 2 standard, and while it might be impossible for other Tier 0 players to execute an attack with that power, let alone multiple; it was nothing difficult for Feng. Even though none of his skills were even Tier 1 or above, except for Flame Burst, with his attributes, they could still be used as around Tier 2 skills.

After around three seconds, the rainbow barrier completely regenerated, and the Unicorn turned to glare at Feng. It was humiliating to have its prided barrier broken so easily and quickly, and it had originally planned to retreat farther from the human while it regenerated before coming back and teaching the human a lesson, but seeing as the idiot was just standing there without attempting to intervene, the Unicorn abandoned its initial plan and just waited, too.

Meanwhile, as five seconds have passed since Feng slashed it, the cut had already healed, and its HP regenerated.

'I wonder...' Seeing the cut he left on the Unicorn regenerating, Feng was reminded of something, and turned towards the Abyssal Blade, which still had a trickle of the Unicorn's blood on it; giving the sword a thoughtful look.

A moment later, he seemed to have came to a decision, as Feng stuck his tongue out and licked the rainbow colored blood on the Abyssal Blade.

'Sweet!' Feng's eyes lit up as soon as the Unicorn blood's flavor hit his taste buds.

Through his previous life, Feng has tried many dishes, from Grandmaster to Craftsman dishes. Some he had tried for the benefits they provided, some simply for eating, while others out of plain curiosity. Although the Unicorn blood's flavor wasn't as rich and diverse as most of those dishes, it was, by far, the sweetest he had ever tasted.

Unfortunately, as these were the Twelve Trials, Feng wouldn't receive any benefits from drinking the Unicorn's blood. Otherwise, he would have long since started sucking on the Unicorn like a vampire. Moreover, as the rest of the trial monsters were Primordial Beasts, and consuming their flesh would normally bring benefits, Feng would have been skinning and eating them alive from trial one if it could increase his strength.

In fact, Feng had tested that during the fourth trial, while slashing and peeling away at the Silver-eyed Lion's flesh, by putting a piece in his mouth. Despite it being raw, Feng had ignored that and the taste, simply swallowing it. After not receiving anything, even a system notification, Feng had confirmed that he wouldn't receive anything by consuming the trial monsters.

He had tried the Unicorn's blood because, for one, he wanted to find out how the blood of a Unicorn tasted, as well as confirming a theory of his about the Twelve Trials. The trial monsters weren't completely real.

Which made sense. After all, the Twelve Trials had been taken by many people through God's Domain's history, and of all sorts of tiers and levels; so, it couldn't spit out a real Primordial Beast according to the trial takers necessities every time.

The trial simply copied a Primordial Beast's body and all of it's characteristics, while lowering the necessary parts depending on the trial taker's tier; but it couldn't replicate the Primordial Beast's essence. That's why, despite the Unicorn's blood being the same and tasting the same as a real Unicorn's would, drinking it doesn't bring Feng any of the benefits he had heard about.

However, he was curious how the trial did so, and what it used as a reference. Though, Feng couldn't exactly investigate the Twelve Trials' mechanics due to his current low ability, he had an idea on what he could try.

A faint blue glow appeared in Feng's eyes, and his perception changed.

The Unicorn no longer had any flesh and bones, and instead, all that was left was a floating, pure white fireball, with vein-like white energy extending from it in the shape of a horse; the sudden brightness of the pure white fireball nearly blinding Feng

'Fuck, it's like I turned on light mode.' Feng cursed in his mind as he squinted while looking at the Unicorn's unblemished soul. Feng didn't have high hopes, but he still scrutinized the Unicorn's soul using his ability, hoping to find something out about how the Twelve Trials replicate and form it.

Unexpectedly, Feng found his answer after merely taking a closer look at how the pure white soul was composed. A soul was usually one part with all of it's properties and color the same, but this Unicorn's soul's shell was different from the rest of the soul's energy contained within it.

The soul's shell seemed... artificial. Moreover, upon closer inspection, Feng discovered a string of soul energy connected to the artificial shell coming from somewhere else. The aura the string was giving off was even purer and stronger than what Feng felt from the Unicorn's soul.

As where the soul string came from was too far to see with the naked eye, even if someone was capable of seeing or sensing the string, they'd be unable to determine its origins. However, with Feng's ability, he could follow the string all the way to its start as long as it was made of purely soul energy. Though, the time it would take depended on the distance.

Out of curiosity, Feng decided not to kill the Unicorn just yet, and to split a part of his focus to trace the string to its source; while he continued tasti- testing the Unicorn and its abilities. Remembering the sweetness of the Unicorn's blood, Feng licked his lips as he gazed at the Unicorn; like he was looking at a top-class dish.

The Unicorn, which had been looking at Feng in disgust upon seeing him lick its blood, subconsciously took a step back when Feng's eyes locked onto it. It felt like a little lamb being starred at by a big bad wolf. The human's eyes were those of a predator sizing up its prey.

Neighing in rage to regain its lost courage, the Unicorn charged at Feng once again, closing the distance within a instant. Feng was no longer surprised by the Unicorn's ability to suddenly appear. In fact, he had a guess on how the Unicorn's skill worked, or to be more precise, it wasn't a skill. The shortest interval between the Unicorn's sudden movements was around three seconds, which would be too short of a cooldown for such a skill.

Thus, Feng guessed that it was some kind of Unicorn Racial Talent. An example of a Talent would be the elf race's mana affinity. Elves were innately more sensitive to mana than the average human, and they also had an easier time manipulating mana. Because of this, many magical class experts would actively choose to change their race to the elf race.

As for the Talent that this Unicorn had, after observing the Unicorn use it a couple of times, Feng had summarized that it was the ability to shrink space between the Unicorn and its target. That was why, despite the Unicorn instantly appearing in front of Feng, his senses told him that it had ran up to him and why it had charging speed. As the space between the Unicorn and Feng had shrunk, it merely gave off the illusion that the Unicorn had teleported, while it had indeed traveled the same distance.

Feng had originally been impressed when he discovered this, as he had only seen and heard of a few Tier 6 gods with some mastery over space being able to accomplish this, yet the Unicorn was capable of achieving the same feat despite merely being a Tier 0 creature. However, Feng soon concluded it might have been able to do so because it was a Real Lord within its domain.

Moreover, the ability had a flaw. As soon as the Unicorn's target figured out how it worked, its movements would become predictable. The target could even prepare an attack, and the Unicorn would just run into it. Which was exactly what Feng did.

When he noticed that the Unicorn was about to charge at him, Feng swung the Purgatory's Shadow as the Unicorn was stepping forward. The next moment, when the Unicorn appeared with its golden horn attempting to skewer him, the Purgatory's Shadow had already intercepted the pointy attack, altering its trajectory. Meanwhile, Feng slashed with the Abyssal Blade using Chop. Before the Unicorn could react, the attack connected, followed by a Double Chop and Earth Splitter.

Feng continued attacking until he broke through the rainbow barrier, at which pint the Unicorn attempted to retreat until its defense reformed, but Feng wasn't planning on letting it do as it pleased this time. Feng pursued the Unicorn and continued his attack before the rainbow barrier could recover.

Although the Unicorn tried distancing itself, as well as dodging and fighting back, its attempts were proven useless as Feng easily closed in on the Unicorn and slashed at it with the Abyssal Blade and Purgatory's Shadow; continuously dealing damage.

The rainbow barrier's reconstruction seemed to be disrupted by Feng's onslaught, as its forming speed had been slowed by a large margin. The Unicorn used its inherit space shrinking Talent to pull away from Feng immediately, but the distance it was capable of traveling has decreased after using it in such quick succession, only moving five yards from its original position.

From that, Feng wagered that there was a limit to how much of its Talent the Unicorn could exhibit as a Tier 0 creature. Although Feng had originally been tempted to follow the Unicorn through the shrunken space in order to prevent it from creating any distance between them, he decided against it after considering that he might get stretched to death if he couldn't get out of the shrunken space in time. However, he did come up with a counter measure to the Unicorn's annoying escape method.

When Feng closed in on the Unicorn again, he didn't immediately attack it like he did previously. Instead, to the Unicorn's extreme dissatisfaction, Feng hopped onto the Unicorn's back and wrapped his legs around it, before resuming his attack by slashing and stabbing at its unprotected back. This way, even if the Unicorn did use its ability to shrink space and attempted to escape through it, Feng, who was on its back, would follow along without any problems.

Feng's genius plan only worked for a moment, before stormy clouds gathered in the sky above him and the Unicorn. As the center of the clouds, which was right above Feng's head, turned rainbow colored, Feng felt a faint sense of danger. He immediately jumped off the Unicorn and distanced himself from it.

A moment later, a rainbow beam shot from the multiple colored cloud, and landed on the Unicorn. To Feng's surprise, the beam that gave off a threat of danger to him did no harm to the Unicorn, and the Unicorn's HP started recovering at a rapid pace instead.

Naturally, Feng could have used Flame Burst to protect himself and destroy the Unicorn's attack, but as it was his first time seeing the skill, Feng decided to simply avoid it. Moreover, this Unicorn was an intelligent creature. If he actually used Flame Burst and showed it that he could rendered its attack completely useless, while also having the ability to instantly kill it off, the Unicorn would immediately turn tail and run; without bothering to fight back. Feng would then be unable to see everything it was capable of.

While waiting for the Unicorn's skill to end, and for it to recover its HP and rainbow barrier, Feng, being the responsible sword owner that he is, decided to cleanse his weapons of the Unicorn's blood; using his tongue, of course. This also gave him the opportunity to taste the sweet taste of the blood of his enemies.

---

"It seems this little guy won't have much trouble passing the 10th trial."

"Even with the legendary Unicorn's barrier constantly recovering at such a rapid pace, he'll be able to quickly whittle it down."

"Though, why doesn't he use his Tier 2 Flame Burst to instantly finish off the Unicorn?"

The people sitting on the silver thrones discussed Feng's battle with the Unicorn, unanimously agreeing that it won't take him a lot of effort to pass the 10th trial, until one of the silver thrones posed a question that confused the rest of them as well.

It wasn't difficult for them to identify that Feng had previously used Flame Burst in his fight with the Sky Fox and the Hydra, and even if some of them didn't know which skill he used, they could easily tell that the skill was at the Tier 2 standard.

What confused them, though, was why Feng has yet to use Flame Burst to quickly kill the Unicorn and pass the trial. If he had, the fight would have ended in the second exchange.

"Perhaps he's indulging himself." As the rest of the silver thrones wondered about Feng's decision, a middle aged man on one of the silver thrones revealed a part of Feng's intention in discontent. However, there was a hint of envy in his voice.

The rest of the people in the Eternal Throne turned towards the projection of Feng happily licking away at the Unicorn's blood, their expressions changing as they seemed to understand what the middle aged man meant. Some of them had expressions of disapproval, some of envy, while some of yearning.

Nevertheless of their outward feelings, all of them felt jealous on the inside. Although, there'd be no real benefits to consuming the Unicorn's blood, the taste of such a legendary extinct creature was no doubt incredible. Yet, not only would they never get to taste it, they had to watch as someone else thoroughly enjoyed it.

Even the people on the golden thrones seem to be having mixed feelings.

---

Meanwhile, Feng had no idea about the discussion between the people in the Eternal Throne. He merely kept enjoying the Unicorn's blood, feeling like he was getting addicted to its sweetness, while waiting for the Unicorn to finish recovering. By the time the Unicorn's HP became full again, and its rainbow barrier reconstructed, the Abyssal Blade and Purgatory's Shadow were already clean.

Following which, Feng spent about half an hour repeatedly breaking the rainbow barrier and damaging the Unicorn, forcing it to show it's full abilities, then distancing himself when the Unicorn's HP get's low and letting it recover while savoring its blood.

After testing out the Unicorn multiple times, Feng thought he had forced it to show most of its skills and abilities. Apart from the previous cloud summoning, the Unicorn had a couple of different skills, such as firing all kinds of colored light rays from its horn and summoning a giant phantom hoof to stomp on him.

A legendary creature like the Unicorn was indeed impressive. Even though it was only a Tier 0 creature, it had multiple Tier 2 skills. It could even compare to a weak Lord with unique abilities.

An interesting thing happened while Feng was bullying the Unicorn, as well. Even though Feng was attacking the rainbow barrier half of the time, the proficiency of his skills had been increasing regardless. With the Skill Proficiency he previously received from fighting monsters, as well as from the trial rewards, he finally leveled up Chop to Tier 1; with the other skills getting close as well.

Although players had weapons and equipment that could increase their skill levels, that particular increase would not allow a skill to undergo a qualitative change; only the skill's level would change. For a skill to reach Tier 1, players needed to raise the skill past Level 12 personally.

Feng's Chop had reached level 8 a while ago, and with the Abyssal Blade's +4 Skill Level, it reached level 12, but as it couldn't go past that unless he leveled it past level 12 personally, Chop's level increase had stagnated. The same went for his other skills.

[Chop] (Action-type)

Requires: Sword

Tier 1, Level 1 (Proficiency 0/30,000)

Additional 600 base damage. Deals up to three consecutive hits in one second. If attacks land in the same location, damage increases by 50%.

Attack range: 6 yards

Cooldown: 3 seconds

Compared to the Tier 0, Level 12 Chop, the base damage had not increased much. However, when using the Tier 1, Level 1 Chop, Feng could swing his sword three times in one second. Moreover, if his attacks struck the same location, his damage would increase by 50%.

Not only did Tier 1 skills increase a player's power, but they also increased a player's freedom of attack.

In other words, the more skilled a player was, the more damage they could deal.

This was why, despite being the same Level, Tier 1 players were far more powerful than Tier 0 players. Tier 1 players also possessed much higher Attributes and a larger variety of skills. Tier 0 players had no chance of contending with Tier 1 players of the same level.

During this time, Feng kept following along on the Unicorn's soul string using his ability. From the distance his senses crossed, Feng knew that he had long left his God's Domain, and crossed multiple realms. The distance made him wonder how far the source truly was, and where it actually comes from.

However, as more time passed and Feng enjoyed more of the Unicorn's blood's sweetness, the more he felt it was a shame he couldn't bring any with him. Even if he had for some reason brought anything he could contain the blood in, which he didn't, he wouldn't be able to use it, as he couldn't take out the items in his bag. The only things he could use was the food made from Cooking...

'Wait...' A light bulb went on above Feng's head, as a brilliant idea came to his mind. After breaking the rainbow barrier again, Feng didn't bother pursuing the Unicorn, letting his delicious blood source distance itself from him, and looked through his bag. A moment later, Feng took out a beverage which Violet, who was already an Intermediate Master Chef, made.

Although the boosts a player would get for drinking the beverage were great, Feng turned the cup upside down and poured the drink out without hesitation, before taking out another nine cups one after another and emptying them. He was currently in a state of combat, so he couldn't drink it; and even if he could, there was a ten minute cooldown for drinking another cup. Thus, Feng decided to simply pour out the beverages, leaving him with empty cups.

He then turned towards the Unicorn with a grin, and used Silent Steps.

The Unicorn suddenly felt chills crawling down its spine, but before it could do anything, Feng appeared and used Thundering Flash, followed by Thunder Flame Explosion. The rainbow barrier, which hadn't completely recovered yet, shattered under the two skills.

Feng landed next to one of the Unicorn's legs, before slashing at it eight times in a single breath, all of his attacks landed on the same spot; resulting in him almost cutting the leg clean off. The Unicorn neighed loudly in pain, but Feng ignored it and grabbed the Unicorn's sliced leg while taking out one of the empty cups from his cloak. He then placed the cup under the part he slashed at, from which the rainbow blood was pouring, and started filling up the cup.

Within one second, the cup was filled to the brim. Feng stored it in his bag and took out another cup, feeling it up quickly as well. By the time the third cup was filled, the Unicorn finally reacted, shooting a golden light ray from its horn; meanwhile, clouds gathered in the sky. Feng didn't even glance at the Unicorn or its attacks, merely switching to the Aura of Earth and using Absolute Defense.

The golden light ray from the Unicorn's horn and the rainbow beam from the clouds collided with Feng's Absolute Defense, and did no damage whatsoever. The Unicorn became enraged when it saw that Feng was completely unfazed by its attacks. Its golden horn lit up with a black glow, before a black light ray shot towards Feng. Naturally, this did nothing as well.

For the next five seconds, the Unicorn used all sorts of skills, and even tried to get out of Feng's grip, but nothing worked. However, after five seconds, Absolute Defense's duration ended. When it saw the faint, golden barrier around Feng disappear, the Unicorn immediately fired a rainbow light ray from its horn. This was also the most powerful light ray it could fire.

By now Feng had already filled up nine cups and only had one left, so he didn't feel like stopping now. Feng activated Defensive Blade and executed Chop, sending three black arcs of light to counter the rainbow beam. The three black arcs of light gathered in the same spot and collided with the rainbow light ray, resulting in a explosion.

Although the Unicorn's attack was at the Peak of Basic Tier 2 standard, with Feng's attributes and using Strength Combination with Chop's attacks, it was able to negate the Unicorn's attack; even if it was on the losing side and the rest of the attack's result landed on Feng, who had activated Defensive Blade before hand and remained unharmed.

The Unicorn was about to blow its top when it saw that Feng was completely unharmed, still collecting its blood. As it was considering its next move, Feng finally filled up his last cup and stored it. He then slashed with the Abyssal Blade while using Double Chop, both his attacks landing on the same spot, and completely cutting off the Unicorn's leg; which had been barely holding on.

After its leg, which Feng has been holding onto this entire time, had been cut off, the Unicorn gritted its teeth in pain as it used its ability to distance itself from Feng, suddenly appearing over thirty yards away.

Feng paid no attention to the Unicorn, looking at the ten cups filled with Unicorn blood in his bag with joy instead. Although it couldn't directly increase his attributes, if he gave the blood to Violet, she could definitely make a delicious meal with it. It might even receive an unexpected boost.

His joy was brief, however, as he realized that an unlimited source of this incredible sweetness was standing right in front of him, yet he couldn't bring anymore with him, since he had only brought ten of those beverages.

'Fuck, if I reincarnate again, I'll bring a thousand- no ten thousand- no a million of beverages, or something that could contain even more liquid, and completely milk the Unicorn dry.' Feng swore to himself as he regretted not bringing more of Violet's beverages or other drinks with him.

To drown his sorrows, he held the Unicorn's leg above him, before turning it upside down and letting all of the blood flow into his mouth.

When the leg had been emptied of Unicorn blood, Feng turned towards the Unicorn in the distance. The Unicorn was currently surrounded by its rainbow barrier, while its lost HP was still recovering. Even though its battle recovery allowed the Unicorn to recover 10,000 HP every five seconds, losing a limb did much more damage than if Feng had normally slashed it in the same amount. Meanwhile, the Unicorn's lost leg was slowly regenerating

Thinking of the Unicorn's leg, Feng switched his gaze to the one he was currently holding. Since he was still waiting for the Unicorn to recover, and considering the unicorn blood's taste, Feng decided to try out the Unicorn flesh's taste as well and bit a part of the leg, before chewing. He went back on his decision as soon as he tasted the leg's flavor, immediately spitting it out the bit in his mouth and throwing away the leg in his hand.

Although the taste wasn't exactly horrible, it was still raw and unrefined. He didn't have to put up with that when he could simply consume the Unicorn's blood while killing time. After remembering how easily he got a large amount of Unicorn blood from the leg, Feng then switched his gaze to the Unicorn's remaining three legs, licking his lips.

The Unicorn tuned around and bolted as soon as it saw that and Feng's predatory gaze. Despite having only three legs, it's speed was still incredibly fast; comparable to some High Chieftains. It even utilized its space shrinking ability from the start in order to distance itself by another twenty yards.

Feng became speechless upon seeing the Unicorn run like the devil's chasing it. Was he that scary? He soon shook his head and switched to the Aura of Wind, before activating Wind Rider and flying after the Unicorn.

Around five minutes later, Feng was slowly pacing around a legless horse with a golden horn on its head. The legless Unicorn laid on the ground, shooting daggers from its eyes, and light rays from its horn, at Feng. Despite the fact that its life was in his hands, the Unicorn kept attacking Feng regardless.

It was unknown whether that was because it was in the Unicorn's nature as a trial monster, or if it was simply pissed at its current situation and was relieving some anger. Even Feng felt a bit guilty as he looked at the poor creature.

He was willing to admit that he might have gone just a tad too far by dismembering it and drinking the blood from its limbs. Though, if anything, it was the Unicorn's fault for having such tasty and addicting blood. Feng really couldn't be blamed here. He felt that he vaguely understood how the people who hunted Unicorns felt now.

As he was wondering how to proceed with the now helpless Unicorn, his eyes turned faintly bluer and he froze in place, as his senses that had been following the soul string alerted him that the soul energy has become purer. A moment later, Feng finally was able to perceive the source of the Unicorn's soul energy.

The soul string was connected to a gigantic, white fireball of incredible purity. The brightness and purity this soul gave off was much greater than the one he saw from the Unicorn in the trial. Compering the two would be like comparing the brightness of a firefly and that of the scorching sun. There was simply no comparison.

With Feng's experience, he wagered that the soul's power was comparable to that of an Ancient God.

While Feng gazed at the gigantic fireball, the soul itself seemed to sense his probing, as it lit up slowly and sent out a pulse from its center. When the pulse collided with Feng's senses, Feng's vision collapsed, and he was forced to close his eyes; a trickle of blood flowing from his tightly shut eyelids.

'Welp, never doing that again.' Feng rubbed his shut eyelids in pain, feeling like his eyes were on fire 'At least not until I reach higher tiers and my immortal soul gets stronger.'

Whatever the Unicorn's soul was connected to, Feng was currently too weak to even look at it, let alone investigate any further. Though, he couldn't say he didn't gain anything from this, as he had a rough location in the Greater God's Domain to where the soul string's origin is. After getting to Tier 6 and leaving his God's Domain, he could go there and check what that Ancient God level soul belonged to.

As Feng was recovering his sight, he felt danger coming at him from above. Although, he couldn't see anything, his senses told him that the Unicorn had used its skill to summon a giant phantom hoof, attempting to crush him while he wasn't paying attention and couldn't see.

"Alright, play time's over. Time to end this." Feng slowly opened his bloodshot eyes, as the Abyssal Blade and Purgatory's Shadow lit up like miniature suns.

Though, he still had one more thing to test.

After using Silent Steps to dodge the phantom hoof and appear next to the Unicorn, Feng slashed with the blazing Abyssal Blade. The rainbow barrier, which could normally take a couple of hits from him, was no different than a sheet of paper, as the Abyssal Blade barely slowed down after coming in contact with it before continuing towards the Unicorn.

However, Feng wasn't aiming for the Unicorn's body or head, his target was the golden horn on its head. Feng had previously noticed that most of the Unicorn's skills and overall combat power depended on its horn, so he was curious to see what the Unicorn could do without it.

Of course, that was under the condition it could survive. Feng's normal attacks couldn't even leave a scratch on the golden horn, leaving Flame Burst the only option in removing it. But, he had guessed that the Unicorn would die while he was cutting it off, so he left the experiment for after he traced the soul string.

Now that he was done with that, it won't matter whether the Unicorn could survive or not.

Dang!

As the Abyssal Blade slashed at the Unicorn's horn, the sound of metal colliding echoed, and the Abyssal Blade surprisingly bounced off. The Unicorn neighed loudly in pain as a gash appeared on its golden horn. It seemed to be in great pain, as Feng remembered it didn't react like that even when he was dismembering it.

What surprised him, though, was that there was only a small gash on the Unicorn's horn where the Abyssal Blade had struck it. Flame Burst was a Peak Tier 2 single target sure-kill skill, and it was even more powerful than normal Peak Tier 2 skills, as Feng had leveled it up to level 10. Yet, paired with the Abyssal Blade, it could barely damage the Unicorn's horn.

Moreover, even if he couldn't kill the Unicorn in a single hit using Flame Burst, he should have been able to take away a large part of its HP. After all, he could do damages of around ten thousand to the Unicorn with his regular attacks. But the damage the Unicorn received after getting struck by Flame Burst was even less than that.

Feng assumed it was because he had struck its horn, which made him even more curious what would happen if he completely chopped it off. If one slash wouldn't work, he'd simply slash a few more times. Feng switched to the Aura of Fire, before his two swords turned into afterimages, as he executed eight attacks in a single breath, with all of them landing on the spot the previous gash on the Unicorn's horn was made.

Although the Unicorn sensed the danger and attempted to move its horn out of the way, its reaction was too slow.

Eight Extreme Slashes!

The Unicorn neighed even louder this time, as the gash in its horn expended. Seeing that only around half of the horn was cut through, Feng proceeded to use Eight Extreme Slashes one more time. This time the golden horn was barely still connected. With a final cut from the Abyssal Blade, the golden horn was completely removed from the Unicorn's head.

Tears of pain and sorrow appeared in the Unicorn's eyes as it watched Feng play around with its horn in his hands. The trial guardian was simply too pitiful. First, it got repeatedly cut and its blood drained, then its legs were cut off, and now its most precious horn was taken away from it.

Rage bubbled inside the Unicorn, but it was completely helpless. With its horn removed, it was like a tiger without its claws and teeth. A legless tiger without its claws and teeth, to be more specific.

Feng played around with the Unicorn's horn, but ultimately found it was useless. The system didn't acknowledge it as a proper item, and he couldn't even store it in his bags.

"I guess it's about time I moved on." After thinking for a moment and realizing there was nothing more he could gain or learn from the Unicorn, Feng decided to put the pitiful animal out of its misery.

Using up the rest of Flame Burst's attack count, Feng took away whatever remained of the Unicorn's HP.

System: Unicorn defeated. Tenth trial completed. Rewarding 50,000,000 EXP, 40 Free Mastery Points, and 100 Gold Coins. Proficiency of all Skills increased by 3,000 points.

System: Tenth trial cleared. Do you wish to start the next trial?

A golden glow surrounded Feng, as he reached level 26. He decided to first rest and recover his lost Stamina while Flame Burst was on cooldown.

---

"Finally, I was starting to feel pity towards that poor Unicorn."

"A legendary creature such as the Unicorn truly didn't deserve to be treated like this."

"Are we sure that we want to place our hopes on this little guy?"

The people on the silver thrones breathed sighs of relief when the Unicorn finally died. They couldn't help but feel like they would receive some sort of divine punishment for merely looking at such a scene.

"This does not matter. Sealing the abyss takes priority, and this little guy has more than proven that he has the ability to find the seven treasures." One of the golden thrones suddenly spoke up, silencing the silver thrones. The middle aged man on the golden throne then turned towards the rest of the golden throne occupants "He has already passed the 10th trial. Shall we begin?"

The rest of the people on the golden thrones nodded, before they all stood up and remined suspended in the air, followed by the silver thrones. The nine people turned towards the purple throne and started chanting an incantation, while the rest provided Mana.

As an enormous amount of Mana rushed towards the purple throne, a Magic Array appeared beneath all of the thrones, using the fifty silver thrones as nodes while the nine golden thrones acted as gathering points, from which Mana was infused into the purple throne; which was the core of the Magic Array.

The people in the Eternal Throne spent over ten minutes supplying Mana to the purple throne. Just as they were about to run out, a phantom consolidated on the purple throne. The phantom sitting on the purple throne was a bald man who looked to be in his thirties, draped in majestic golden armor. The pressure subconsciously emanated by the bald man nearly forced the Eternal Throne's occupants to their knees.

A nasty scar ran down from the man's bald head, all the way to his left eye. The scar made the man's already ferocious, beard covered face look even more ferocious.

While the people were struggling to remain on their feet, the bald man opened his eyes. A thick thirst for battle could be seen in the man's eyes for a moment, before it disappeared and was replaced by indifference as the bald man gazed at the people around him.

"Lord Temple Lord."

The fifty-nine people unanimously greeted in respect with their head lowered. The man sitting on the purple throne was the founder of the War God's Temple; thus, all of them held him in high regard.

The bald man nodded in response before asking indifferently "Why have you summoned me?"

One of the golden thrones then explained what had happened with the abyss, and then with Feng.

"A Tier 0 Swordsman was capable of passing ten trials? That's indeed impressive." The bald man spoke after he was done listening. Despite praising Feng, his face and voice remained indifferent, "I suppose it has been a while since someone was able to get this far. If he manages to impress me in the next trial, I might help him a little bit." The man continued after a moment of thought

He had already heard about Feng's capabilities, and didn't have too high hopes for him. Unlike the rest, though, he did think that there was a chance for Feng to pass the 11th trial if he played his cards right, but it was impossible for him to pass the last one. After all, as the final trial of the Twelve Trials, it required more than simple brute force and high attributes to pass it.

---

After resting for a while and recovering his Stamina, Feng tapped "Yes" to go to the next trial.

As soon as he appeared in the 11th trial, Feng immediately swallowed a mouthful of water. Meanwhile, not only did he feel incredible coldness, an enormous pressure was also crushing him. If he was a regular Tier 0 player, he would have been immediately crushed to death.

Still, Feng found it hard to move even a finger. After all, although his attributes were comparable to a Tier 2 player, his Physique was nowhere even close. If not for the Heavenly Dragon's Breath's boost in Physique as well his own high defense, he wouldn't have even been able to resist the water's pressure temporarily. Regardless, if he didn't escape his current situation, he'd soon die anyway.

Looking around, all he saw was darkness. From the pressure, Feng had already guessed that he was in some deep waters, but from what he noticed, not even a ray of light could reach him; making it impossible to see anything around him. Moreover, as he was currently underwater, he couldn't use the Ice-Blue Devil Flame to light up his surrounding.

He knew it would fail, but he attempted it anyway; and as he expected, the blue flame couldn't even spread from his body before it was extinguished.

Feng could only resort to using his senses, which were muddled in this deep water, to try and ascertain his surroundings.

Although he couldn't get a clear image of his vicinity, from the waves that were moving around him, he could definitely feel it. There was something gigantic swimming around him. Slowly circling him. Meanwhile, Feng felt as if he was being gazed at by an apex predator.

He immediately used Observing eyes, hoping to see the 11th trial's guardian. He was finally able to see a faint outline of a moving body around thirty yards away from him, which was circling around him.

[Reaper Leviathan[1] (Realm Lord)] (Sea Monster, Leviathan, Rare Special Elite)

Level 25

HP 40,000,000

Feng's pupils contracted when he saw the trial monster's information. He had a very deep impression of the Leviathan race.

Leviathans referred to sea monsters of ginormous proportions, and weren't necessarily of one type. They could range from anything like sea serpents, whales, water snakes, crocodiles to even something like turtles or crabs. No matter what it was, if it had the Leviathan bloodline, its size and HP would increase by several folds.

Sea monsters were normally much larger and had more HP than regular monsters of the same level, and this was especially so for Leviathans.

Even if a regular fish were to receive the Leviathan bloodline, its size would immediately become comparable to a Sea King of the same level, while its HP would undergo a transformation.

What made the Leviathans incredibly hard to deal with were exactly their size and large HP pools. In God's Domain, the size of a creature directly corresponded to how much damage they received. If a one hundred meter tall monster and a fifty meter monster had the same defense and received the same attack, the damage the former received would be nearly half of the latter.

Meanwhile the Leviathans were the largest creatures in Feng's God's Domain, and even in the Greater God's Domain, the Leviathans were among the three largest races. A good example was the Reaper Leviathan Feng was currently facing. Despite merely being a Tier 0 Rare Special Elite, it was bigger than most Great Lords, its size close to that of land Grand Lords.

The thing that made Leviathan's different from other Primordial Beasts was, despite being from the same era and similarly getting hunted, they were nowhere near extinct, and there was actually quite a large number of them in the Greater God's Domain.

Only players didn't encounter them that often as Leviathans lived in the deepest parts of oceans. The reason they weren't as rare as other Primordial Beasts was because of how difficult they were to kill with their large bodies and high HPs, as well as them living very deep underwater.

In fact, Leviathans were normally unkillable by players of the same tier, and even players of a higher tier would struggle to kill one. This was especially so for higher tiers. If a Tier 6 God didn't have a Fragmented Divine Weapon, or has mastered a World Law, they'd be unable to kill a Tier 5 Legendary Leviathan.

While Feng was hunting for Divine Monsters in his God's Domain after reaching Tier 6 in his previous life, he had encountered a Tier 5 Legendary Reaper Leviathan; it was also the only Legendary Leviathan in his God's Domain. That Leviathan had lived in the deepest parts of the ocean between the Eastern and Western continent, which made it even harder to raid.

Although Feng didn't have a Fragmented Divine Weapon at the time, he had mastered the Law of Destruction, which was the Advanced World Law with the highest damage dealing capabilities. If not for that, even with two of the Ten Great Legendary Weapons and the assistance of his guildmates, he would have been unable to kill it.

Even though, that Reaper Leviathan wasn't the strongest and most difficult monster to raid in his God's Domain, it was definitely the biggest and had the highest HP out of all of them.

However, this wasn't why Feng had a very deep impression for the Leviathan race. Instead it was because of another Leviathan he had seen in the Greater God's Domain.

One of his Greater God's Domain's Twenty-Two Taboos, the Gargantuan Void Leviathan.

There were Twenty-two Monsters that should never be provoked in the Greater God's Domain. They were existences even Primordial Gods and apex powers were helpless against. In the public's eyes, these twenty-two monsters were essentially taboo-like existences.

Meanwhile, among the Twenty-Two Taboos the Gargantuan Void Leviathan was definitely the biggest and the most unkillable one. Aside from its incredibly high attributes, and its size that made it impossible to fight it, its HP was the largest Feng had ever seen or heard of in his career of playing God's Domain. Standing at a whopping one hundred quintillion HP, the Gargantuan Void Leviathan would be impossible to drain unless a full team of Primordial Gods gathered and attacked it.

With Primordial Gods having long disappeared from the public's eyes, it was naturally impossible for so many of them to gather.

Moreover, that was only under the condition that the Gargantuan Void Leviathan did nothing and let the Primordial Gods bombard it with attacks.

What made the Gargantuan Void Leviathan different from most of the other Twenty-Two Taboos was that it didn't have a territory, nor was it hidden somewhere. It simply slowly swam around in the void sea.

In fact, despite it being one of the Greater God's Domain's Twenty-Two Taboos, the Gargantuan Void Leviathan wasn't actually a native of Feng's Greater God's Domain, nor was it a resident. It came from somewhere outside; from the Universal God's Domain; and merely enters Feng's Greater God's Domain's void sea occasionally.

Whenever it passes through Feng's Greater God's Domain, or to be more specific, the human race's Greater God's Domain, it always brings a headache to the residential powers. If it passes somewhere in their territory or near their fortresses in the void sea, there only option was to abandon and wait for it to leave; while praying that it doesn't eat any of their constructions in the void sea and make their hard work be for nothing.

This went for the Greater God's Domains belonging to other races which the Gargantuan Void Leviathan visits, as well.

The way Feng had encountered the Gargantuan Void Leviathan was quite coincidental, actually. While fighting a war with another power in the void sea, the Gargantuan Void Leviathan suddenly swam over after being attracted by the battle; causing the war to be forcibly put on hold, with quite good timing too, as Feng's side had been slowly losing. So the Gargantuan Void Leviathan's intervention had saved Feng from having to expose some of his trump cards.

According to what Feng heard, before that, the last time the Gargantuan Void Leviathan was seen in the human race's Greater God's Domain was over 600 years ago.

At the time, seeing the Gargantuan Void Leviathan, Feng had truly been shocked. Before that, he had heard legends about the sizes Leviathans could reach, with the first ever Leviathan that existed being capable of swallowing an entire Elementary God's Domain. Naturally, he had never even entertained the idea of that being possible, but after seeing the Gargantuan Void Leviathan, he couldn't help but consider there being some truth to the matter.

Despite being a Tier 6 God, with his senses and vision, Feng guessed that he wasn't able to see even a fifth of the Gargantuan Void Leviathan's entire body. Although it was nowhere big enough to swallow an entire God's Domain, it was definitely capable of swallowing an entire Kingdom.

Compared to that ginormous thing, the Reaper Leviathan currently swimming around him was no different from a speck of dust.

While Feng was reminiscing, the Reaper Leviathan roared loudly. Feng's expression turned serious as he focused. As a Tier 0 player, the time he could spent underwater before drowning was limited, so he had to end this fight as quickly as possible.

As the Reaper Leviathan swam towards Feng, intending to swallow him whole, Feng unsheathed the Abyssal Blade and Purgatory's Shadow while preparing himself. Since he was unable to see, he could only judge the distance between him and the Reaper Leviathan by feeling.

When the Reaper Leviathan was only around five yards from Feng and opened its giant mouth to consume the human that suddenly appeared in its territory, Feng pushed himself forward into its mouth. The Reaper Leviathan felt that something was wrong and tried to close its mouth in order to bite down on Feng, but it was already too late.

By the time the Reaper Leviathan's mouth closed, Feng was already inside. As the Reaper Leviathan wondered what just happened, a faint light escaped from the gaps in its teeth, while the Leviathan itself felt a scorching heat in its mouth.

In the next moment, suppressed explosions could be heard coming from the Reaper Leviathan's mouth, before a hole ruptured on the top of its head, from which two Fengs escaped from.

System: Reaper Leviathan defeated. Eleventh trial completed. Rewarding 70,000,000 EXP, 40 Free Mastery Points, and 100 Gold Coins. Proficiency of all Skills increased by 3,000 points.

System: Eleventh trial cleared. Do you wish to start the next trial?

Feng immediately clicked "Yes" to go to the next trial in order to get out of the water and not drown.

Although the fight with the Reaper Leviathan was short, its duration comparable to the fight with the Mirage Beast, the 11th trial could have easily been the hardest of them all; as well as Feng's end.

He had made a risky move like jumping inside the Reaper Leviathan's mouth in order to kill it as soon as possible by summoning his doppelganger and both of them using Flame Burst, attacking the Reaper Leviathan from the inside where it's most vulnerable.

Of course, if that didn't work, his only option would have been to use Absolute Defense and Heavenly Dragon's Power along with all of his skills in order to either deal as much damage as possible or escape.

Thankfully, he had been able to take away all of its HP in one go.

---

"He was actually able to defeat it!?"

"What quick thinking. I thought he would die there for sure."

Feng's successful passage of the 11th trial astonished all of the people sitting on the thrones. Even the bald man on the purple throne had a flash of surprise in his eyes, before he nodded in approval.

Indeed, the best solution was to attack from the inside. With the Reaper Leviathans size and HP, it would have been impossible for Feng to kill it if he attempted to attack its body anywhere else. Not to mention, he was underwater and dealing with great pressure that came from being at such a depth, meanwhile, the Reaper Leviathan was not only a sea monster, but also a Realm Lord. Fighting it within its own territory would have been foolish.

'Not bad. Even if he fails to clear the last trial, I should still help him out a bit.' The War God's Temple's Temple Lord decided that Feng was a talent worth nurturing, and he began pondering on how to help him out while remedying the punishment for dying in the Twelve Trials.

The performance Feng just showed did nothing to convince him that Feng could pass the 12th trial.

In fact, it did the exact opposite.

---

When Feng appeared in the 12th trial, he immediately breathed in the air around him, but became slightly uncomfortable upon noticing how hot it was.

Looking around, Feng saw a land that was completely on fire. Even the rock ground beneath his fight has turned completely red from the surrounding's heat.

If not for Feng's points in Fire Resistance, his high defense, and the fact that the Epic rank Rocket Boots provided a certain amount of protection to his feet from the ground he stood on, he would have started taking burning damage.

As Feng was looking around and trying to find the trial guardian, wind rolled as something shot out from the fire. When Feng saw the creature that just came out of the fire, his expression turned bad.

"I'm so fucked." Feng mumbled to himself as he looked at the fire bird flying above him.

1. Reference to Subnautica

Note 1: I'll finally be getting my PC back soon, so more chapters should be coming out in the near future

Note 2: Recently found out that the original translation of the OG novel had some incorrect parts concerning some originally Ancient God things actually being Primordial God things, like the Scholar, causing many of my original plans to go to shit, which was one of the many reasons I haven't written anything in the past two weeks or so

Now I'm considering either changing some of the things I planned, which would cause many problems, or to simply ignore that and go on with what I originally planned like I never found out about the change. Frankly, I don't like either options, since I don't feel like changing stuff, but I also don't want to directly ignore the change and make things incorrect

After thinking for a while, I've decided that I'll most likely go along with my former plans even if things end up wrong and different from what LOC intended in the OG novel; unless I see something in the SS chapters that allows me to make a silver lining
