Bab 37: Secret Reveal - Part 2

Adam, the human revealed by God to be the first of its kind, made an iconic walk out of the main door. Not a single word or voice could be heard other than the footsteps created by Adam as he wandered into foreign territory.

While their mouths didn't hang open in awe, their minds were perturbed, musing about various ideas and reasons why God decided to create him and what his destined purpose would be.

To differentiate themselves from one another, they found practicality in using themselves as a reference. Adam might have the same features as others—two hands, two legs, a neck connecting to a head—but that could be a fabrication since God Himself can alter His appearance to whatever He desires.

However, upon closer inspection, it was clear that Adam was not equipped with a pair of wings. He appeared smaller in comparison to the Angels and Demons, and his strength seemed lesser in quality as well.

There was an extra piece of flesh stitched to his crotch, but they couldn't figure out its purpose. Whenever their eyes met him, a sense of calmness and smoothness washed over their bodies. The tranquillity that emanated from Adam was almost addicting.

"All of you must have been wondering what is so special about Adam, this 'human' that I created, aren't you?" God's words filled the silence with a profound sentiment. "Why I claimed that he is the most perfect creature that I have created."

Lucifer, deeply lost in thought, was hooked on the matter, just as when God tasked him with something, causing his mind to go blank. It was strange for Lucifer, as this was the first time he had experienced such a privation.

"Well, the answer to that question is that a human is gifted with 'free will' embedded in their brain," God explained, and a feeling of distress overwhelmed every soul in attendance except God and Adam.

"Free will?" muttered a few Angels and Demons to themselves, pondering over the significance of the term.

The power to act without the constraint of necessity, the ability to act at one's discretion—a powerful endowment bestowed upon a being that would alter their imagination, taste, desires, and understanding. A status that should not be granted to any other creatures besides God Himself.

Free will? Lucifer thought to himself, understanding the true implications while others debated the nature of this gift. Wouldn't that allow Adam to act against God Himself?

"Adam will have a mind of his own, able to choose between different possible courses of action unimpeded," God further detailed His statement. "Thus, he is superior to all of you, as he is in charge of himself, and he is the only one who can change himself."

Silence fell once again as everyone realized the hidden meaning behind God's words. With 'free will,' evil would also exist. It was a crucial part of this concept, making it impossible for God to give Adam free will and prevent evil from occurring.

"Now, I order every one of you to bow down before Adam, in a show of respect," God commanded, and instantly, the Angels and Demons bowed their heads.

"All praise the Almighty God," Gabriel once again requested, reminding everyone to worship their creator and not to forget Adam, the first human in existence.

"All praise the Almighty God, and to Adam, the first human in existence," they chanted in unison, honouring their supreme being and the newest creature.

"Everyone, dismiss," God directed as He glided toward Adam and guided him back through the main door.

As everyone prepared to leave, Gabriel decided to follow God and Adam, while others didn't bother. The Archangels and Archdemons questioned this movement.

"Did God summon him as well?" Michael asked, directing the question to Lucifer.

"No idea," Lucifer replied. "He hasn't spoken at all during the presentation."

"Maybe he snuck up on them," Michael speculated.

"Could be."

"So, General Lucifer, what's our order now?" Asmodeus inquired, with the other Archdemons gathering behind her.

"Proceed with what you were tasked to do, and if you're done, assist the others," Lucifer instructed. "I believe we're about to get busier with the existence of Adam. Soon, we may see more human beings created."

"Understood," Asmodeus replied, and they dispersed in their ways.

"You've been thinking about it too, huh?" Michael remarked as Lucifer glanced back at him.

"There's no telling the future," Lucifer described. "Do you still remember when we were created?"

"As clear as day, Lucifer."

"Gabriel came first, though," Lucifer recalled. "Then I came along."

"Followed by me, right?"

"Yeah," Lucifer replied, enjoying the memory. "Then one by one, before I realized it, there were thousands of us."

"So, that's where you got the idea of human repopulating," Michael concluded.

"Said the guy who had the same idea," Lucifer joked.

"Well, I guess this is where I take my leave," Michael said, slowly backing away. "Since we share the same notion, I think you can guess what I'm going to do now, right?"

"Save the chitchat for another time," Lucifer jested, waving farewell to Michael. "I'll see you later then."

With that, Lucifer entered a dilemma, contemplating the implications of bestowing "free will" upon a human. As he wandered, he reached a state where whatever he was about to try or do would mean nothing.

God knew the past and the future. The reality was what He desired it to be, and fate was what He historically wrote for them. So why should Lucifer worry so much?

"Hey, what's the matter with you?" Gabriel greeted Lucifer as he saw him sitting at the edge of the Parthenon's platform.

"Humor me, Gabriel," Lucifer suddenly requested.

"That's the first thing you say once I'm back, huh?" Gabriel chuckled at the demanding nature of the request.

"Come on, you know what I need to know, right?"

"Fine," Gabriel admitted defeat and reported all his findings. "Just as I am made of light and you are made of fire, Adam, as a human, was made out of clay."

"That's all?" Lucifer demanded, annoyed because he knew Gabriel was hiding more information.

"Alright, you got me there," Gabriel confessed without guilt, raising both arms before slowly standing up. "You see, there is a place called Earth that God also created. Like Heaven, it possesses some beautiful features, but also foreshadows Hell."

"What's Hell?" Lucifer genuinely asked.

"All I can say is that not a single creature that God created would willingly choose to stay inside it," Gabriel expressed. "I haven't seen it for myself, of course."

"To counteract the aftermath of 'free will' bestowed upon humans?" Lucifer questioned.

"It's not fair, right, Lucifer?" Gabriel probed his words and tone unsettling Lucifer.

"What do you mean unfair? God is just and equitable."

"It's unfair, Lucifer!" Gabriel's prompt forced Lucifer to stand up. "For God to love one being more than another, where is the rationality in that!?"

"Hey, Gabriel! Calm down!" Lucifer tried to calm him, but Gabriel yanked away the hand meant to soothe him.

"I'm sorry, Lucifer, but I no longer worship a fake God who claims everything yet is powerless," Gabriel declared.

"Take back your words, Gabriel! You're committing treason!" Lucifer reminded Gabriel of his mistakes, hoping that this argument was nothing but a test set up by God to resolve.

"There is no bright future for you to act like this," Lucifer pleaded.

"Then I'll change the future to be how I want it," Gabriel said, completely losing control as a sharp blade formed in his right hand. "With this kind of power, there must be a meaning behind it."

[Warp!]

"As the chess piece is already set, I guess you just have to play along," Gabriel taunted, altering his appearance to mirror Lucifer's.

[Shluck!]

The blade pierced through Lucifer's skull, and blood rushed from the open wound. Before pulling out the blade, Gabriel changed Lucifer's appearance to that of an Angel and forcefully pushed him off the Parthenon.

"Don't worry, Lucifer. You will have a chance to face me, and I'll explain everything clearly. Remember, it's not because God forbids this to happen, but me, Gabriel."

Fact no. 21: The world's oldest known joke is a Sumerian joke from 1900 BC that goes: "Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband's lap."

I wanted to crack a religious joke as it suit my story context and all but I definetly shouldn't as I don't want to get punish. God forgive me.
