Bab 14: Meeting with the Satans
Kaiser agreed to meet the four Satans in a mutually unaffiliated place in order to try to reduce the tension between the two parties.
The meeting place was set in a restaurant in Paris, France called Le Manoir des Roses.
Once he got to the location he instantly noticed that the whole place was empty and the workers were under some kind of controlling spell.
For this meeting, Kaiser was accompanied by Albedo, Yasaka and Grayfia. Although Grayfia refused to dine since she is very serious about keeping her place as Kaiser's personal maid.
Yasaka accompanied Kaiser as his wife, since he attended as the head of the Order of Nihility there wasn't any need for her to attend as the representative of the youkai.
Albedo was also present as a lover of Kaiser, not like she held any other title of her own as of now that could be acknowledged in a meeting like this. Ever since she became Kaiser's lover she had been hell-bent on staying as close to him as possible.
During their travels, she gained the Sinister Tyrant of Love title, due to her behaviour when other women tried to approach Kaiser. By no means was she against Kaiser having multiple lovers, but she wouldn't just accept every single simple woman who tried their luck to be her dearest's lover and sometimes the more persistent ones met cruel retribution.
They entered the restaurant and there was a singular table in the middle of the restaurant with 4 people already sitting there. Kaiser made eye contact with them as he approached the table alongside the three ladies and for safety measures, Kaiser put a protective barrier around them.
Kaiser took a seat while Grayfia stood behind his chair, Yasaka took a seat on his right while Albedo sat down on his left.
Not a word was said during any of this, but just as the Satans were sizing up Kaiser and the people accompanying him Kaiser was doing the same.
'Ajuka and Sirzechs have reached super devil class, but the other two aren't even close to obtaining it.' thought Kaiser.
Sirzechs decided to break the ice.
"Long time no see Kaiser. How have you been?" asked Sirzechs.
"I'm doing alright, thank you for asking, and how have you been if I may ask? Of course, this question is extended to all of you, so feel free to answer." said Kaiser with a small smile on his face.
"I'm doing well for myself, my only problem is the stress that comes with leading a faction but I believe you are no stranger to this feeling yourself." said Sirzechs.
"Indeed. Although I have noticed that your companions seem to be extremely tense." said Kaiser.
"I'm not tense! I just didn't want to intrude on the reunion between the two of you." said Serafall.
'Reunion between Sirzechs and I? We were never that close that this could be considered a reunion.' thought Kaiser.
"There are multiple reasons for that. The first has to do with your personal strength. Even Ajuka and I can tell that you have surpassed us, so if you came with hostile intentions, we would be in trouble. The second thing is that we were only notified of two people attending that being yourself and your maid. The two extra people put the others on edge." said Sirzechs.
'He is right master, I failed to mention Lady Yasaka and Lady Albedo on the list of attendees.' Grayfia said to Kaiser through mental connection.
'Don't sweat it, I don't really care.'
"Then you'll have to excuse my maid for this blunder, it was an honest mistake on her part." said Kaiser.
"Do you mind introducing them?" asked Ajuka.
"Of course not. The beautiful nine-tailed fox on my right is Yasaka Vesperion, my beloved wife. On my left side is Albedo Vesperion, even though she isn't my wife yet, she wished to bear my family's name when we became lovers. Treat them as you would treat me or expect the worst." said Kaiser with a smile.
All four of the Satans noted that when Kaiser spoke about Yasaka and Albedo his eyes held warmth and affection that disappeared as soon as he went back to conversing with them. They also couldn't ignore the open threat directed at them at the end.
"Congratulation on your relationship, I wish all the best to all of you." said Sirzechs.
This time instead of Kaiser, Yasaka was the one who spoke up.
"We appreciate your sweet words, but I'm sure that we have more pressing matters to discuss, so how about instead of this catching-up we get to discussing why you requested this meeting." said Yasaka.
All of them directed their eyes at Yasaka who didn't flinch under the heavy gazes of the four who all surpassed her in strength. She had complete trust in her husband that if things went south, she would come out fine.
"Alright, then. We wish to showcase our goodwill towards your faction. I know that the Vesperion family has a deep enmity with us devils, but we sincerely want to take steps towards reconciling." said Sirzechs.
"I'm listening." said Kaiser and Sirzechs nodded to Ajuka who took out a briefcase, unlocked it and turned it towards Kaiser before opening it.
Inside the briefcase, there were chess pieces.
One king, one queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights and eight pawns.
"What are these?" asked Kaiser.
"These are called Evil Pieces. I developed them to help repopulate devils faster and also to help our race get stronger. You infuse the king piece with your aura and it becomes bound to you. You can reincarnate people who were recently killed from whatever race and they become a devil. Each type of piece gives a different boost." explained Ajuka.
"What boosts?" asked Kaiser.
"Pawns can promote into a queen, rook, knight, or bishop in enemy territory or with permission from their king. Knights gain increased speed and mobility, enabling them to perform high-speed attacks and manoeuvres, but in turn, their defensive abilities are weaker. Bishops gain enhanced demonic power and magical abilities however, the bigger the spell, the more demonic energy is used and it takes a lot of time to regain it. Rooks gain superhuman strength, leading to high offense and defense, but they are relatively slow. Queens possess all the characteristics of rooks, knights, and bishops, making them the most balanced piece as well as the most powerful, they also serve as the right-hand men to their king. The king piece is unique for every person. For example in Sirzechs case his pieces underwent a mutation due to his [Power of Destruction] and the same would most likely happen to you." explained Ajuka.
"Am I correct to assume you plan on giving me these pieces?" asked Kaiser
"Yes!" replied Serafall.
"How do I know there isn't some kind of tracker and detonation spell placed on these?" asked Kaiser.
"Even if there was it would be pointless especially for you because of your [Power of Annihilation]. When you infuse the pieces with your aura it will go through changes in its entirety so if there were any spells beforehand it would cease to exist." said Ajuka.
"Then I shall accept your goodwill and act more considerate towards the devils." said Kaiser.
'I'll place them on the same level as other factions except the angels and fallen, those fuckers surely know that I exist and must be planning how to get rid of me. I will take great pleasure plucking the feather from their wings one-by-one before ripping them off. The funny thing is that I'm barely considerate towards anyone who isn't from my family or faction, so my behaviour will hardly change towards them.' thought Kaiser.
"Thank you." said Sirzechs.
"Could you infuse your aura into the king piece now? Ajuka would like to see and note down any notable changes. Of course only if you don't mind." said Serafall.
Even though Sirzechs had been the one doing most of the talking it's due to the fact that he was the one who suggested giving Kaiser a set of Evil Pieces.
They felt like this wasn't completely an external problem since Kaiser was still a devil so it could be regarded as an internal problem, which falls under Sirzechs' jurisdiction. They took into account his personal strength and personality and decided that he would be the perfect spokesperson for this meeting.
If they looked at it as an external problem Serafall would be the one handling this meeting, because officially she is the one responsible for handling the devil faction's external politics.
"I don't mind." said Kaiser as he took the king piece and infused it with his aura.
The piece began to glow and took on a void purple colour and as the king piece was changing all the other pieces inside the briefcase also began to undergo transformation.
An ominous aura started emitting from the pieces and the edges of the pieces became jagged and symbols started appearing on them.
After the transformation was over Kaiser felt the king piece trying to move towards his chest as he felt a connection appear between him and the pieces.
He let go of the king piece and it entered his chest. All the pieces vanished from the briefcase, but Kaiser could feel that they were being stored inside the king piece.
"Well, I hope that what you saw was satisfactory but we will now be taking our leave." said Kaiser as he stood up followed by Yasaka and Albedo.
'Dearest, I wish to have a date in this restaurant.' Albedo said to Kaiser through mental connection.
'Then I will make a reservation for us as soon as possible my love.' replied Kaiser.
'Husband, I would like to go sightseeing around this city someday.' Yasaka said to Kaiser through mental connection.
'I will plan out an appropriate tour for us my beloved fox.' replied Kaiser to Yasaka.
Kaiser shook the hands of the men and nodded at Serafall before nodding at Grayfia. A purple teleportation circle appear below them and they disappeared from the restaurant, leaving the four Satans to themselves.
