Ethan Smith lowered his head, not knowing what to say.

He felt joyful deep in his heart, but within that joy, there was also a hint of low self-esteem.

"This is not the place to talk. I will be waiting for you by Crescent Lake up ahead," Emily Taylor said.

Ethan Smith nodded: "Alright."

Then, Emily Taylor put away her brightness and stepped ontop her jade lotus, heading in the direction of Crescent Lake.

Ethan Smith walked down to the foot of the mountain, where he was immediately stopped by Mateo Terrell.

It seemed Mateo had been waiting for him for a while. Upon seeing Ethan coming out, Mateo rushed over, firmly gripping Ethan's wrist.

His eyes brimmed with fury, and terrible anger radiated from his body.

"You bastard, how dare you deceive me!" Mateo clenched his teeth, wishing he could eat Ethan alive.

With an awkward smile, Ethan Smith said, "I'm really sorry. I had no choice. But don't worry, I will compensate you."
