Bab 40: Chapter 40
"Kouga Jonin. My True Name, Mochizuki Chiyome. Assassin-class. Please, give me your orders."
I smile a little and say.
"Thank you for answering my call, Chiyome."
The assassin's servant looks at me and nods her head.
"It is my pleasure to serve a lord, master. A shinobi needs a master, and you are my master."
I walk toward her and pat her head. I can see her flinch a little at my show of affection, but when I put my hand on her head, I can see her fear melt away, and now I can only see a look of contentment on her face.
"Then I'm glad to be your master. I want to spend my time with you, Chiyome, but I have an important mission for you."
She looks up at me and nods her head.
"Give me your order, my lord."
"First thing first, what kind of knowledge do you get from the system?"
She looks at me and says,
"It is only the basic, master. I know about the basics of this world and many locations of this country. However, other than the basics, there is nothing else."
"Right. This country is in a Civil War. My enemy is on the upper hand, and we need to gather information and spread false information."
"Of course, master. I can do that."
I nod and look at her sadly.
"Chiyome… I know you dislike battle, but I need you to assassinate a few nobles to shorten this war."
Chiyome looks at me right in the eyes and smiles warmly.
"Thank you for thinking of me, master. I dislike battle, but I'm willing to kill someone to shorten the battle. Especially if this is my master's order, I'm willing to do it."
I hug her and feel her body tense up. Chiyome is a tragic kunoichi who bears a curse from a God, and she keeps experiencing pain as the curse courses through her body.
I keep hugging her until I feel her body start to relax before I release her and say.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for calling you up only to ask you to kill someone."
While looking at her, I remember something. I take out my phone and take out a loan from the company. I take a thirty-point loan from the company. It has an interest of 12.5%, but if I can pay them all within thirty days, I do not need to pay the interest.
Suikoden has a lot of capture targets, and I can use this.
After getting the points, I bought [Mind Defense] and [Possession Defense] from the shop. [Mind Defense] cost me twenty-five points, and [Possession Defense] cost me ten points, which leaves me with three points.
After purchasing the defense, I look at Chiyome, who looks at me with her eyes wide open in shock.
"How is it? That is a little bit better, right?"

Chiyome did not know what to think of her new master. From her first interaction with him, she knew that he cared for her, and he did not want to send her to do the job she did not like. That alone already makes him a perfect master for her.
Even when her master is a murderer or a maniac, she will still fulfill her duty because it is her job as a shinobi. However, she also wants someone that she happily follows, and her new master is someone she willingly follows.
However, the value of Gerrald increases by a thousand times when she feels the curse of Orochi weakening greatly. [Body Defense] reduces the torture the curse causes to her by quite a bit, to the point that she can ignore it. It will still make a regular human scream like they are on the brink of the, but to her, it is already weak enough that she can ignore it.
[Mind Defense] reduces the mental torture the curse is causing her. She can now think clearly and even control her curse completely so she can use it as a weapon.
This is her master's doing because he looks at her in anticipation after doing something to his phone.
"M-Master… How?"
Gerrald releases a relieved sigh and says.
"That is good. It looks like it is working. I just give you the power to combat the curse inside your body."
"Y-You know about the curse."
"I do."
"And you still choose me."
"Of course. You are an incredible woman and an incredible kunoichi. Of course, I will choose you."
For the first time in her life, Chiyome releases happy tears. She did not know why she was crying as she quickly wiped the tears away, but Gerrald was already patting her head and said.
"You deserve happiness, Chiyome. You have been through a lot. Let me take some of that pain away from you and give you happiness."
Chiyome wipes away another tear that falls down her eyes and looks at Lord Master.
"We have yet to spend our time together, but please let me say this, Lord Master."
She kneels in front of Gerrald and says.
"Lord Master, I will forever accompany you. My loyalty is yours for all eternity. Please let me stay by your side so I can serve you for all eternity."
Gerrald smiles at her and says.
"I take you as my servant, Mochizuki Chiyome. I will be your lord and partner from now and until death, do us apart. Let us work together from now on."
