Bab 5: Mist returns
Just below his wrist, Gem saw an eyeball covered in dark red blood, looking back at him straight in the eye.
His brain quickly processes the situation due to which he reflexively started shaking his hand in a desperate attempt to remove the eyeball from his hand. After a while, he once again checked his hand.
Instead of disappearing the eyeball instead was near his elbow. This led to another fanatical shaking of his hand for a while.
Once again checking his hand, he was terrified to find the eyeball in his shoulder, still looking at him straight in the eye, as if challenging him to do something about it.
Due to the continuous accumulation of fright, he Unknowingly hit the eyeball with his left hand which was used to hold the smartphone, he was certain that the eyeball flew away due to the connection with the mobile but this led to his phone being thrown into the distance, After bouncing on the ground the lights went off, which led to his only source of light to vanish, once again engulfing him in utter darkness.
He found himself all alone once again, embraced in the night with the cold wind as his companion.
He contemplated whether he should search for his phone or not, but remembering the eerie eye stuck to the phone, he decided against searching for the phone.
Left alone in the darkness with no sense of vision, and the only thing that could be heard was the erratic thumping of his heart. He wondered what he should do next. Because the weird atmosphere was making him uncomfortable.
Just then he heard a distant sound of a vehicle. Thinking that another person was also traveling in the mountain he turned his head in the direction where the sound came from. As he was facing the direction of the sound hoping to see the vehicles light. He felt something crash into him with extreme force from the front.
Due to the uneven surface he had been hit with he was immediately able to realize what hit him. If he wasn't mistaken it was probably his crashed truck.
Because of the unexpected collision, his body suddenly went limp, he was sent flying like a ragdoll. There was immense pain in every part of his body.
But, the excruciating pain didn't last long as his body immediately started to turn numb. slowly he felt his conciseness turn hazy He was slowly unable to make proper thoughts.
It felt like he was having a blackout. but since everything was already black so, he couldn't discern his situation properly.
During all this, he kept falling, a significant amount of time passed as he was still falling into the continuous darkness with seemingly no end.
His consciousness was blurred and his sense of oneself was lost.
After falling continuously for an unknown amount of time finally, a change occurred.
There was a white sphere that was shining dimly just a bit far from him.
Tired of the constant darkness Gems remaining consciousness instinctually moved towards the white sphere slowly.
Finally, he was just above the sphere.
Eventually, his conciseness passed through the sphere. just as he passed through the sphere a bright white light erupted all around him. After that, he felt as if he had once again gained freedom of movement.
He had regained the ability to move and think properly.
But, he quickly realized that he couldn't feel anything. There were no body parts on him.
He felt like a wisp of consciousness floating around. He could somehow feel what was around him only in a small radius of around a meter. But he didn't know where he was feeling it, probably something related to supernatural senses.
He slowly started to make sense of where he was. He was at ... well, in a white mist that seems to be everywhere he could sense.
There was white mist in every direction. He then decided to search for something else other than the white mist, to know where he was.
He moved in every possible direction but despite his continuous searching, he couldn't find anything.
Just as he was getting tired, he heard a sound. After listening to the sound carefully he guessed that it was the sound of splashing water.
Hoping to find the source he floated to the detection he believed the sound came from.
After a while, he saw a vast expanse of blue water. The erratic movement of the water produced the sound he had heard.
Just as he was getting near the water he felt a kind of repulsion towards it.
Retreating from the ocean surface he floated slightly above the ocean.
After floating stilly for a while he eventually decided to let his instincts guide him.
After floating for a while in a seemingly random direction he eventually reached what seems to be a ship. He passed through the hull of the ship and found a skeleton body I. a sitting posture.
He slowly entered the rib of the skeleton, as soon as he entered inside the skeleton's body, he felt all his known senses start to return.
He could once again feel the surrounding temperature, smell the salty humid air, listen to the crashing of waves, and see his surroundings.
