Albert noticed the change in Isabel's expression and suddenly felt a little amused.
After all, he knew some details about Professor Trelawney, who was known for making predictions of a student's death every year.
Predicting someone's misfortune wasn't really that strange; it was, after all, part of her job.
The divination done by Professor Trelawney when she wasn't in her special trance state was purely for entertainment, and there was no need to take it seriously.
At this moment, Professor Trelawney had returned to her seat, and from somewhere, she took out a book and began to explain to the three of them how ancient runes were used in divination and how to interpret the results of the prophecies. Professor Babbling would sometimes raise questions, and other times she would make additional comments.
Contrary to Isabel, Albert was quite engrossed in what was being said. He was already considering how to get himself a skill in Rosmerta stone divination.
Professor Trelawney's divination might be unreliable, but his panel skill was quite dependable.
In fact, divination ability was a skill that Albert wanted to acquire, but he was interested in learning crystal ball divination, not Rosmerta stone divination. The latter was just a coincidence. If he could learn it, it would be a nice addition to his repertoire.
After all, there was no one who would complain about having too many skills.
There were many forms of Rosmerta stone divination, using one stone, three stones, five stones, six stones, or seven stones. Professor Trelawney was enthusiastically explaining all the methods of interpreting Rosmerta stones to them.
Isabel seemed to be getting a little impatient. Nevertheless, she still listened patiently to Professor Trelawney. On the other hand, Albert was in a daze, checking his panel skills to see if he had acquired the skill for Rosmerta stone divination.
In the process, Professor Trelawney performed two more divinations for them, seemingly to prove her identity as a diviner.
However, all of Albert's prophecies were about future fortune, and the fact proved that his future fortune would be quite good.
After all, once might be an accident, twice might be a coincidence, but three times, the probability of it being an accident would be much lower, right?
Could it be that Professor Trelawney was actually some hidden boss?
On the contrary, Isabel was quite the opposite. All her prophecies were warning her that there would be trouble in the near future and that she would have to make choices.
In the last divination, the "Wunjo" rune appeared, which represented joy or glory when upright and sorrow or distress when reversed.
"You will encounter difficulties that cannot be changed by human efforts. It may come suddenly, making it impossible for you to control," Professor Trelawney said, somewhat startled by her own divination level. She knew how good her divination skills were, and she didn't expect to encounter two people in a row whose prophecies were quite similar.
Though surprised, Professor Trelawney managed to maintain an inscrutable expression, making herself appear mysterious.
"There's no doubt that you will encounter trouble," Professor Trelawney concluded, "and it may depend on your choices. I'm sorry you didn't choose my Divination class; you have a talent for it."
Albert listened and couldn't help but want to laugh. Isn't this what Isabel said just now?
"I don't have the talent for it."
Isabel seemed to notice Albert's expression and turned her head away, ignoring him.
"If you had chosen my class, I would have been delighted," Professor Trelawney chatted with Professor Babbling for a while before preparing to leave. "This is a gift for you."
With that, Professor Trelawney gave Albert the bag of Rosmerta stones, the layout cloth, and the book "Rosmerta Stone Divination." She whispered, "Good luck. Oh, you already have enough luck, don't you?"
Albert was a bit bewildered; he hadn't expected Professor Trelawney to give these things to him. What was this? Did she genuinely think he had the talent for divination?
However, after searching through his panel skills again, he still couldn't find the Rosmerta stone divination skill.
"Congratulations, Anderson," Isabel teased after Professor Trelawney left.
"Thanks. If I really had the talent for divination, I would set up a stall to offer divinations," Albert replied with a straight face. "But it seems you have some trouble ahead, don't you?"
Three consecutive times might not be true, but it was quite troublesome.
Albert opened the book "Rosmerta Stone Divination" and couldn't help twitching his facial muscles. He handed it to Isabel and said, "Divination still depends on talent."
Professor Trelawney's words were directly taken from the book.
Albert wasn't surprised and showed an expression that said, "As expected."
"Divination is quite interesting," Albert muttered to himself as he silently took out a Rosmerta stone from the bag and fell into silence.
"Reversed Eihwaz," Albert glanced at the Rosmerta stone in his hand. What was it that he wanted to predict just now?
"This is a clear warning, warning you to be careful... this is not a good omen." He remembered what Professor Trelawney had said.
Does this mean there will be danger?
Or did the Rosmerta stone not mix properly?
"What's wrong?" Isabel asked.
"Nothing," Albert sighed. "I just did a divination for myself, and it seems I'll encounter some danger this semester."
"Why do you think you'll be in danger?" Isabel asked in return.
"After all, a lot happened last semester," Albert replied.
The three of them chatted for a while, each sharing their views on Rosmerta stone divination. It was true that very few people could truly foresee the future...
As for the unspoken words, they all understood each other's meaning.
"Alright, let's call it a day for today," Professor Babbling said to the two of them.
They both got up to bid their farewells, but suddenly, Professor Babbling called Albert back.
"Mr. Anderson, I have something to discuss with you."
Isabel looked at Albert curiously and then left.
"Professor Babbling, what is it?" Albert asked.
"I'm planning to publish a book, a book related to ancient runes. I already have a name for it: 'Advanced Rune Translation'," Professor Babbling suddenly said.
Albert couldn't help but pause for a moment, understanding what Professor Babbling meant.
She wanted him to help her complete this book?
"Do you want me to help you with this book?" Albert asked uncertainly.
"Yes," Professor Babbling said, "I hope you can join in the compilation and revision of this book."
Albert opened his mouth, but didn't say anything, listening quietly as Professor Babbling finished speaking.
"I hope it can become an important reference book for the study of ancient runes," Professor Babbling said with a touch of helplessness. "Initially, I intended to use Mr. McDougall's 'Comprehensive Guide to Basic Runes' as the reference book, but I found that it's too difficult for everyone, so I hope..."
In fact, Albert knew that the study of ancient runes was not about magic, but more inclined towards literature. At Hogwarts, the Ancient Runes class taught understanding and translating ancient runes.
After graduation, one usually worked in areas with ancient magical remains, similar to muggle archaeologists.
If someone wanted to study magic, the starting point would be too high, reaching NEWT-level proficiency.
Mr. McDougall's "Comprehensive Guide to Basic Runes" was difficult even for wizards who were good at ancient runes, let alone others.
"Well, I'll do my best. I am quite good at rune translation," Albert agreed, nodding. Although Professor Babbling gave it a high-sounding name, anyone with clear eyes would know its contents after reading it.
"That's great!" Professor Babbling was pleased. She invited Albert to help because she was well aware of his prowess in rune translation.
With that, she waved her wand, conjuring a paper bag and handing it to Albert.
"I've been planning this book since Mr. McDougall's 'Advanced Rune Studies' was released. Later, I made some modifications."
"Um..." Albert weighed his words. "Actually, I think it's good."
"I won't let you help in vain. I will split the proceeds from this book in half with you, and I'll put your name on it," Professor Babbling said.
"As for the name, it's not necessary, as for the galleons..." Albert had some doubts about how many copies of this book could be sold, but he didn't say anything more.
After a moment of silence, Albert spoke again, "I hope I can borrow books related to ancient runes from the Restricted Section of the library."
"No problem," Professor Babbling nodded and began searching for parchment and a quill.
As Albert left the Ancient Runes classroom, he had a somewhat complicated expression, holding a folder in his hands. In his pocket, he had Professor Babbling's signature, which was indeed a pleasant thing.
"In this way, I'll be the second," he murmured.
"What do you mean, the second?" a voice suddenly sounded in his ear.
Albert looked in the direction of the voice and found Isabel standing not far away, staring at him.
"Haven't you left yet?" Albert looked at her with surprise.
"I want to ask you something," Isabel said.
"About divination?"
"No. It's about your bet with Katrina," Isabel said.
"Do you want me to admit defeat?"
"I don't know what you're up to or why you're doing this, but I hope you keep this bet a secret and not let too many people know about it. When the first Quidditch match of the year starts, I'll be there as a witness for both of you."
"Okay, I have no objections."
