For the next half-hour, the members of the Sorcery Club continued to practice the Non-Verbal Charm, and several of them had already succeeded in using spells without uttering a word.

Of course, there were a few who chose to cheat, softly reciting the incantation, hoping others would think they had succeeded too. However, this kind of behavior didn't lead to any useful learning.

Albert had succeeded several times, but he also realized that it was challenging to accomplish the Lumos Charm non-verbally with just a thought and a wand movement. Even the enhancement of his magical bloodline did not increase his chances of success, and he couldn't find the Non-Verbal Charm on his skill panel.

Non-Verbal Charm was a casting technique rather than a spell itself. To master and use it skillfully, one needed to practice extensively, making it quite a challenging process.

The key to success in the Non-Verbal Charm lay in the caster's willpower and the ability to concentrate intensely. Some people said that magic was idealism, and Albert remembered reading this statement in his past life on the internet. From his current perspective, there was some truth to it.

"Magic is the miracle of distorting reality created by will."

Albert also leaned towards this view. From what he could observe, this statement made sense.

Albert wasn't sure if his willpower was strong enough, but he believed that with a little more effort, he would be on par with anyone else. After all, he had successfully used the Non-Verbal Lumos Charm several times already.

At least one thing was certain: he was doing much better than his friend nearby.

Truman's face had turned red, his mouth tightly shut, looking as if he were suffering from constipation. If he bent over slightly, he would look even more so.

"Why not start with simple spells and work your way up?" Albert couldn't understand Truman's thinking. Everything required a step-by-step approach, and trying to become a master all at once was obviously unrealistic. Did Truman not understand this?

"Ah!" Truman sighed in frustration, deflating like a punctured ball. "Non-Verbal Charms are just too difficult for us right now."

"Considering it's a course for sixth-year Advanced Charms, it's not surprising that it's hard," Albert nodded in agreement, though he couldn't help but feel somewhat dismissive. After all, he had a cheat, so he had confidence, and even without it, he still believed he could master Non-Verbal Charms, albeit with more effort.

Albert could understand Truman's mindset. After facing numerous failures, it was easy to lose confidence, and without confidence, it was even harder to succeed in trying Non-Verbal Charms. Albert's advantage was that he believed in himself.

Seeing that everyone had practiced enough, Professor Flitwick spoke up to grab their attention.

"I never expected you all to master the Non-Verbal Charm in this meeting," Professor Flitwick addressed the group. "Today was just a simple attempt, and I'm sure you all have realized that the Non-Verbal Charm is a rather advanced casting technique. It can give us an advantage in duels, and that's important. Mastering Non-Verbal Charms allows a wizard to gain the upper hand, preventing the opponent from countering based on your incantations. As I mentioned before, this point will definitely be assessed."

"Now, I'm sure you're all more interested in how to master the Non-Verbal Charm," Professor Flitwick smiled. "I've noticed that some of you can use spells non-verbally, but you've probably realized that you can't use less familiar spells as proficiently without speaking the incantation."

He had hit the mark.

Everyone listened quietly to Professor Flitwick, hoping to learn something useful from him.

"Not all wizards can perform non-verbal spellcasting; I won't deny that. But after a certain level of training, most wizards can master Non-Verbal Charms. The difference lies in how proficiently they can use it," Professor Flitwick surveyed the crowd and suddenly asked, "Mr. Anderson, can you share with us the key to your success in using the Non-Verbal Lumos Charm?"

Albert was taken aback by Professor Flitwick's sudden request for him to speak. He never expected to be called upon. After a moment of silence, he summarized his experience, "First, you need to concentrate intensely when casting the spell; second, try it with the spells you are most familiar with; and third, believe that you will succeed."

"That's about it," Professor Flitwick nodded approvingly. "You need to succeed first to gain confidence. The more difficult the spell, the harder it is to use the Non-Verbal Charm. It's similar to wandless magic."

As Professor Flitwick spoke about wandless magic, he made a few gestures, causing a piece of paper to levitate in front of everyone.

"Even Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster, cannot use high-level spells without a wand," Professor Flitwick disregarded the floating paper and continued, "Non-Verbal Charm is relatively simpler compared to wandless magic. However, to apply it to complex spells, you need not only strong willpower but also a lot of practice. After the Christmas holidays, we will further study Non-Verbal Charms, and by then, I hope you all will have a basic grasp of it."

"Professor, isn't it too early for us to learn Non-Verbal Charms?" a Hufflepuff student asked.

"Too early?" Professor Flitwick's expression was peculiar. He repeated, "From what I know, African magic students used to perform wandless magic, so... do you think it's too early for you to learn Non-Verbal Charms?"

The students looked at each other and whispered about the matter.

"African magic students can perform wandless magic?" someone asked incredulously. "How do they do it?"

"Because they don't have wands, naturally they perform wandless magic," Professor Flitwick said matter-of-factly, "Of course, learning magic without a wand is more difficult than what we do."

Now they understood why Professor Flitwick had said that most wizards, after a certain level of training, could master Non-Verbal Charms.

If African students can perform more difficult wandless magic, why can't they master Non-Verbal Charms?

"As long as you are willing to practice, you can all achieve a basic grasp of Non-Verbal Charms," Professor Flitwick continued, "I hope to see some surprises from you all by then."

After saying these words, Professor Flitwick asked everyone to take out their copies of "Innovations in Charms" magazine to begin the discussion for the meeting.

Albert had borrowed his copy of "Innovations in Charms" from Professor Flitwick for the time being.

For the rest of the time, everyone continued with the previous topic, discussing an innovative charm from "Innovations in Charms."

As a transfer student, Albert found himself feeling a bit confused at the moment.

On the day after receiving the apology letter from the Ministry of Magic, Albert quietly went to the Room of Requirement to retrieve the Gold Card and return it to Hertock, now that the matter had been cleared up for him.

Keeping the Gold Card would only bring trouble, given Hertock's clarification.

As he picked up the Gold Card, Albert absentmindedly looked in a certain direction and casually placed the Gold Card into the pocket of his robe. Slowly, he walked to the right and noticed an old cabinet with bubbling patches on its surface. He raised his head and squinted his eyes, where he saw a wizard half-statue covered in freckles, and on his head, there was a dusty, old hairpiece, and... an ancient and faded crown-like object.

Stunned, he stood before the old cabinet, and once again, he faintly heard a whisper from the crown. He lifted his hand hesitantly, then slowly withdrew it and quickly turned away.

After leaving the Room of Requirement, Albert stared at the Gold Card in his hand and whispered to himself, "This memory should be enough, right!"

He then placed the Gold Card into a pre-prepared envelope and sent it back to its original owner, Hertock, using the school owl.

As for why he didn't use his own owl?

Well, Hedwig was still on her way delivering the letter.

Watching the owl fly away with the Gold Card, Albert took a deep breath. This matter could be considered closed now. The troublesome task of returning lost property could be considered completed.

When Albert was about to claim a new task, he suddenly noticed a new one on his task panel.

The Struggle of Underage Wizards.

Over the past few years, the Ministry of Magic's tracking spells have occasionally been erroneous. The Improper Use of Magic Office never admits to their mistakes. Use your own method to make them realize their errors and apologize or pay the price. Show them that even underage wizards, who have little power and say, can express their dissatisfaction in other ways.

Reward: 3000 experience points, Dolores Umbridge's favorability -10.

Albert stood outside the owlery, murmuring to himself, "Strange, why did this task trigger at this moment? And once triggered, the task is already completed."

"Perhaps it's because I returned the Gold Card," Albert speculated in his mind. He continued down the stairs and returned to the castle. As he reached the entrance hall, he noticed a new task on his panel.

The Potion Master's Gratitude.

The Gold Membership Card is very important to the Potion Master Hertock, and he is grateful that you have returned the Gold Membership Card as agreed. Your integrity has earned his acknowledgment.

Reward: 100 experience points, 1 skill point, Hertock's favorability +5, randomly gain one skill from the task target, Reward item: A vial of Felix Felicis.

Entering the Great Hall, Albert was surprised again. He didn't expect this matter to have a follow-up, and the rewards were unexpectedly generous.

He had thought that returning the lost property was just the beginning.

However, Albert was curious about what would have happened if he had returned the Gold Card to Hertock right away.

Would he have received a Galleon reward?

Albert had a feeling that difficult tasks usually came with better rewards.

But this time, he seemed to have struck gold. After all, he had spent so much time and effort on this matter.

However, how did Hertock receive his owl's letter so quickly?

It was only ten minutes from the owlery to the Great Hall, even with the time he spent pondering.

Was Hertock waiting for his owl at Hogwarts?

Albert felt that was the only possibility.

It seemed that the Gold Card was even more important than he had anticipated.

He casually sighed in his heart, refocusing his attention on the task at hand.

Albert had no intention of claiming the reward for "The Struggle of Underage Wizards" right now. Decreasing Dolores Umbridge's favorability towards him wasn't something he wanted to deal with.

However, he did directly claim the rewards for the "Return Lost Property" and "Potion Master's Gratitude" tasks.

Then, he found a place in the Great Hall, took out his little notebook, pretended to be reading something, and started to review his skill panel to see what skill rewards he had received from Hertock.

The reward was a bit random; it depended on luck.

Last time, with Dumbledore's task, there was a similar reward, and Albert couldn't find it on his skill panel.

Albert realized he had quite a few skills, most of them being level one or zero. Scrolling through the long list of skills wasn't an easy task.

After carefully checking three times, Albert finally found a skill he had never seen before: "Potion Mastery."

Yes, the skill was called "Potion Mastery."

What caught Albert's attention was that this skill couldn't be upgraded with experience points.

In his impression, skills that required skill points to upgrade were usually good.

This was really exciting news!

...

In the Great Hall, several Gryffindor students were gathered around Albert, whispering to each other.

"What's wrong with Albert?" Angelina looked confusedly at the motionless Albert and asked her brothers, the Weasley twins, "Is he under a full-body-bind curse?"

As she spoke, Fred actually snatched the notebook from Albert's hand and waved it in front of him, but Albert didn't react. He sat there like a living statue, quietly contemplating something.

"No, it's intermittent daydreaming," George explained while taking the notebook from Fred and placing it back into Albert's hand.

"He looks quite eerie like this," Angelina murmured.

"That's why Albert decided to use the notebook as a disguise," George chuckled, "He's probably pondering something important. But you're right; if you don't know what's going on, it can be quite scary."

"Even if you do that, he won't react, you know!" Fred reached out to pinch Albert's cheek, but unexpectedly, Albert suddenly stood up and bumped his head straight into Fred's chin, causing Fred to groan in pain, covering his chin while crouching on the ground.

The collision was solid, and Fred's facial expression was twisted with pain.

Angelina's face twitched. Honestly, she was startled by Albert's sudden movement when he stood up.

Lee Jordan shook his head and said, "You wouldn't suffer if you didn't act recklessly. How come you don't know that?"

"Fred, are you still alive?" George asked with malicious glee.

"It hurts like hell."

"But you're still alive, right?"

"We're twins, aren't we?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll share some of this pain with you." Fred reached out, covering his chin, and then suddenly swung his fist at his own twin brother.

"You bastard, you ambushed me."

They ended up fighting each other.
