Before leaving the Forbidden Forest, Hagrid took the time to help Albert dig up some truffles. However, they were scarce in quantity, and they didn't find many in the end.

As soon as Hagrid opened the door to the cabin, his black hunting dog, Fang, dashed out happily, running around the group and sniffing everything in sight.

Albert crouched down and rubbed Fang's head, calming him down.

Hagrid took the truffles out of his pocket and placed them on the table. He picked up one and examined it from top to bottom, asking, "Are you sure this thing will taste good when charcoal-grilled?"

"Leave it to me!" Albert said confidently. He appeared as steady as a rock on the surface, and his inner confidence matched that.

"If you want to go fishing, I still have some fresh meat left here. You can use it as bait," Hagrid pointed to a large wooden barrel in the corner.

"What's this?" Albert raised an eyebrow as he looked at the raw meat in the barrel. He had just caught a whiff of a bloody smell, which was emanating from the barrel.

"It's food for the Thestrals. During winter, it's difficult for them to find food, so I occasionally go into the forest to feed them and ensure that the young ones in the herd can survive the winter," Hagrid explained, rubbing Fang's head. "The remaining meat is dinner for Fang, right?"

"Are you sure this thing is edible?" Lee Jordan asked, staring at the truffles.

"Of course it is." Hagrid ignited the remaining firewood in the fireplace, placed a copper kettle on it, and then went outside to fetch a bucket of well water for Albert.

Albert took out a sharp knife from the kitchen, scraped off the dirt from the base of the truffles, and thoroughly cleaned them. He then performed a complex wand movement, pointing the tip of his wand at the cleaned truffles and casting a drying charm, causing the water vapor to evaporate from the truffles.

"You don't seem like a first-year student now," Hagrid remarked, looking at Albert expertly casting the spell. He sighed softly, "Your mastery of magic is beyond my imagination. It's hard to believe you come from a Muggle family."

"Yeah!" George sighed softly. "I bet my two silver Sickles in my pocket that this guy knows more magic than a second-year student."

Albert ignored their banter and asked, "Hagrid, do you have any olive oil here?"

"There's still some left. If you need it, I'll get it for you."

"Thank you."

Albert focused on using the sharp knife to slice the truffles thinly.

"Aren't you being too stingy?" Lee Jordan picked up a slice of truffle with his fingertip and sneered, "What can you feel from eating such a thin slice?"

"Slicing them thinly makes them easier to grill later," Albert glared at Lee Jordan and brushed a thin layer of olive oil onto the truffles. Then he transformed a piece of wood into a grill rack, and using tongs, he took out a few pieces of partially burned charcoal from the fireplace and placed them in the fire pit. He placed the grill rack on top and nodded in satisfaction, saying, "Now it feels like a barbecue."

"I think you're making a big deal out of nothing," Fred said, rolling his eyes at the busy Albert.

"Well, this tastes good," Hagrid said, placing the sausages he made aside and picking up a grilling truffle that was still cooking. He nodded as he chewed, "Very good, just too little."

Fred and the others

exchanged glances and quickly swept up the freshly grilled golden truffles, leaving none behind.

"I must say, the texture of this thing is pretty good," George said, chewing on a slice of truffle.

"But it would taste even better with a bit of salt," Fred added.

"I think it should be dipped in some sauce," Lee Jordan suggested.

"You jerks ate up all of mine!" Albert glared angrily at Fred, pointing at the empty plate where his freshly grilled truffles once sat.

"That was George who ate yours!" Fred and Lee Jordan both pointed at George.

"Ahem, there's still plenty in the dish," George coughed dryly and picked up a sausage. "How about we grill some sausages?"

"Just wait until I finish grilling the truffles," Albert snapped at the three of them and continued with his work.

The barbecue didn't last long since there were too few truffles. Each person only got a few slices, but they all had to admit that the truffles tasted really good, leaving a lingering aftertaste.

Afterwards, they grilled the sausages that Hagrid had made, and with a few cups of tea, they returned to the Gryffindor common room, still savoring the delicious flavors.

As for the cookies that Hagrid had made, everyone politely declined. After all, their dental health couldn't handle such hard treats.

When they returned to the Gryffindor common room, the celebration for Gryffindor's victory was still going on. However, most of the cakes and pies had been eaten, leaving only a few toffee candies and a couple of vegetable pasties.

"Where did you guys go?" Angelina asked, puzzled, as she stared at the four of them entering through the entrance.

"We went into the forest with Hagrid," George proudly said.

"The gamekeeper actually took you into the forest?" Angelina was extremely surprised.

"Albert managed to convince him," Fred explained. "And we heard that Professor Kettleburn, who teaches Care of Magical Creatures, lives in the forest."

"Are you joking?" Alicia joined in, leaning closer to join the conversation.

"No, it's true. We happened to meet a witch who was planning to visit Professor Kettleburn, apparently for something about a bird-snake," Lee Jordan said.

"What's a bird-snake?" Katie asked curiously.

Lee Jordan choked and looked at Albert, seeking help from his knowledgeable friend.

"A bird-snake is a winged, two-legged creature from Asia. It can stretch its body freely, so a bird-snake can either expand to fill all available space or shrink its body according to the available space," Albert explained.

"I'm curious about how you know so much about bird-snakes," George joked. "Have you memorized 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'?"

"No, it's just that bird-snake eggs are also one of the ingredients used in brewing Felix Felicis," Albert replied irritably. "So I looked it up."

"By the way, bird-snake eggs have shells made of pure silver," Albert looked around, seeing the astonished expressions on their faces, and nodded satisfactorily. "It is said that the famous author Gilderoy Lockhart once used bird-snake eggs to create a Bird-Snake Egg Yolk Hair Shampoo. It could 'lock in the shine,' but due to its price and the danger involved, the Bird-Snake Egg Yolk Hair Shampoo didn't go into mass production and was only sold on the black market before quickly disappearing."

"Why?" Katie asked, puzzled.

"Because it was too expensive," Albert said matter-of-factly.

"No wonder Felix Felicis is so expensive," Fred sighed.

"It's not just expensive, it's practically unobtainable," Albert said irritably. "Later, when I looked up the ingredients for Felix Felicis, I discovered why almost no one would bother making it. The ingredients themselves are extremely expensive. And if the brewing process fails, it would be a disaster for any potion maker."
