Bab 24: Chapter 24
Located inside a house, on a chair covered with animal skin.
A tall man with shoulder-length black hair and a scar on his face responded to the words.
Immediately, he jokingly teased, unable to contain his amusement.
"Of course! How many times have I said it? Nison's militia is useless except for their sheer numbers."
The man reporting the situation couldn't help but wear a flattering smile upon hearing this.
"The boss is right! What should we do then? Shall we gather our brothers and deal with them?"
"Previously, Nison did send someone to invite you to take action."
Noruko sneered with disdain.
"Hmph, they're just mere pirates."
"They are those who couldn't survive on land and ended up wandering the seas."
"To deal with them, we just need to gather some manpower."
The man asked tentatively, "Shall I go gather some brothers now?"
Noruko waved his hand dismissively, "Go ahead!"
"Since these incompetent fools have set foot on my turf, I should teach them a lesson and make them realize the difference between us and them!"
"Alright!" The man responded with a smile and ran outside full of joy.

....
On the other side, in a small town.
Inside a clinic.
After suffering a devastating defeat against the "Gale Emperor Pirates" on the coast, numerous militiamen returned to the town like beaten dogs.
Nison, the leader of the militia, fell into a coma and lay on a hospital bed.
The other militiamen were also in a sorry state, all with injuries.
The doctors in the clinic, along with two young nurses, were tending to their wounds.
Strangely, although the clinic was crowded with people, it was eerily quiet.
All the militiamen kept their heads low, silent.
After spending a considerable amount of time treating everyone's wounds, the nurse holding medicine looked at the militiamen filling the clinic and couldn't help but feel sorry.
"This time, everyone is injured, and Nison still hasn't woken up..."
The other nurse responded, glancing at the patients in the room.
"Yes, after all, this time they encountered a group of fugitives drifting on the sea."
The nurse holding medicine looked outside the clinic and sighed.
"What on earth is the Navy doing? Why are there so many pirates on the seas? They should be caught by the Navy and thrown into prison."
As the two nurses conversed, a cry suddenly came from the inner room.
"Nison! Nison, you're awake!"
Upon hearing this, the militiamen in the clinic raised their heads abruptly and instinctively rushed toward the source of the voice.
Meanwhile, Nison, who had awakened, struggled to sit up on the bed.
He tightly held the hand of a militiaman beside him and asked urgently, his voice hoarse.
"What about those guys? The pirates? Have they left?!"
The militiamen all lowered their heads in unison, falling into silence.
Seeing their silence, Nison became anxious.
"Speak up! I didn't hear the cries of the townsfolk. Have the pirates retreated? Tell me quickly!"
After Nison's urgent questioning, it took a while before one militiaman clenched his teeth and spoke in a deep voice.
"No! They... haven't left! They... they have already landed on the island."
Nison trembled all over, his eyes lost their sparkle, and even his body seemed to lose strength.
But soon, he regained his composure and asked again.
"What about Noruko ?! Where is that guy?! What about those bandits? Did they try to stop them?"
The militiaman shook his head.
"No, we didn't see a trace of those bandits."
"And now, it's too late. The pirates... have already entered the town."
Nison: "Help me up!"
Militiaman: "What are you planning to do?! You've just awakened, your body is weak, you can't get out of bed yet!"
Seeing that his comrades didn't help him up and instead pressed him back onto the bed, Nison became infuriated and shouted, "Those infamous pirates have already entered the town. How can I stay here and hide in peace?!"
"Their mere presence will make people fear losing their loved ones and feel terror!"
"Now that they have entered the town, if we don't drive them out, the people in the town will be trapped in endless fear!"
As Nison's anger-filled shouts echoed through the clinic, the entire place fell into silence.
Nison stared wide-eyed, his face full of disbelief.
After a while, he lowered his head in shame.
Without many words, without needing assistance, he slowly climbed to his feet.
Militiaman: "What do you intend to do?"
Nison paused for a moment, then continued climbing while speaking.
"I know I'm no match for them."
"I know I'm weak!"
"But even so, I have something I want to protect!"
"I have loved ones that I'm willing to sacrifice my life for, to protect!"
"If I let my loved ones die at the hands of those infamous pirates, I'd rather fight them to the end, even if it's just a futile struggle!"
"I'll stand before them, even if it means certain death!"
Nison's words were calm, but his eyes were filled with an unprecedented determination!
His comrades couldn't help but be moved by his unwavering resolve.
"Nison..."
