Knight Lights
Even after doing all the work I had done, I still had a bit of time leftover till the invasion and so I figured I'd go ahead and make three white lantern rings. I could make more, but three was enough for now. Unlike the arc reactor and cybernetic eye I had made previously, I kept all the functions of the lantern ring intact, but I made different tweaks to all three rings that made them different than each other.
Pulling out the many different types of kryptnite I had stolen long ago from the pirate ship, I took out the orange kryptonite and then put the rest back into my systems inventory. It was the only useful kryptonite that I had gained aside from the usual green.
I wished that I could have found some platinum kryptonite or some other extremely useful version, but my luck wasn't that good unfortunately. Using my hands I broke off a tiny speck of the orange Kryptonite and then sat it aside. I then got to work on the three rings I wanted to make.
The first ring I made purely with systems metal via actors wardrobe, but on the inside of the ring where it couldn't be seen, I etched 3x2(9YZ)4A=? into it with nth metal and then blasted the ring and equation with my magical ki beams momentarily. I had no idea if this would do anything, I was purely playing around and being curious. I had high hopes for this ring though.
The second ring, I also made out of my systems metal, but this time I embedded the speck of orange kryptonite into it's interior. After sitting that one aside, I made my third and final ring which was fifty percent nth metal and fifty percent system metal.
The orange non radioactive kryptonite ring was the one I planned to gift to my bro Telos, the first ring I had made with the equation etched in it I had decided I would leave amongst the fake lantern rings in Champions Navi. That ring would be left up to fate and chance.
The third ring was different than the other two, I put instructions into it to find someone around age fifteen to fifty that deserved a second chance at life. Someone that had done wrong in his or her past that wished for an opportunity to do good.
I named the first ring with the equation the speed force ring, the second ring with orange kryptonite I named the tamers ring, and the third partly nth metal ring I named the redemption ring. All of the rings were pure white and looked like a typical lantern ring, but instead of the lantern logo, they had a crescent moon on their faces.
After sending off the redemption ring, I flew over to Champions Navi and restocked some of the items. This store had long since paid for itself and made me a multi millionaire on day one. Money was no long a worry for me. Seeing nobody around the fake lantern rings, I placed the speed force ring amongst the fakes and then walked away. I hoped the ring would find someone worthy.
I had put one rule into this rings programming. If someone with an evil mindset were to get it, it would pretend to be a regular ring and then return itself to the store and wait for a new buyer to find it. Aside from that, anybody could end up owning it. I honestly enjoyed the idea and couldn't wait to see who gets it.
After that, I told the tamers ring to go find Telos. I feared Telos wouldn't accept the ring, but If he didn't, Id just have to think of a new person to inherit it. I could see why a person wouldn't want to work under their friend though, so I wouldn't be offended if he returned the ring.
Having distributed the rings, It was now time to go home and create the ring batteries that they would need later. The rings are automatically programmed to bring it's user to Moonlight Castle to be recharged in case they didn't have a battery with them.
Once home I finished the batteries as quickly as possible because the invasion with the Thanagarians was going to happen in the next hour. Worried some of my citizens would be caught in the crossfire, I made a City wide announcement using one of the many domain functions.
"Citizens of Moonlight City, Please get you and your loved ones inside and off the streets. This is not a drill. Outside Alien forces are on their way to attack our world shortly, but there is no need to be afraid. You are in the safest city in the world right now and under my protection. Please stay inside until the invaders have been dealt with. My knights, my Disciples, other Heroes of Moonlight City, and myself will be patrolling the streets at the start of the invasion and if you see us and need assistance, feel free to call out to us."
I felt sorry for the rest of the world that wouldn't get the warning or our protection, but my main concern was my people. If I wanted to go around calling myself a King, I needed to act like one and put my people first. I had already done enough by expressing the need to be cautious at the United Nations meeting.
Cosmic Starlight walked up to me after I was done speaking. "Do you care if I give Batman a warning? Also...about my father..."
I understood what she meant. "You can tell Bruce, but he is likely already aware, as for your father, I believe that old man would be alright without help, but I can have the Moonlight Computer keep track of him and the rest of the GCPD just in case something happens. If he is ever in any danger, I'll go and personally help.
Cosmic Starlight looked relieved. "...Thanks."
After hearing her concerns I thought about the others and so I spoke on the Moonlight Castles coms. "If anyone has any loved ones that are not in moonlight city, bring them here now if you are worried about their safety. Be as quick as possible, the invasion will start in the next hour if my predictions are correct."
Although Thanagarians were nothing but annoying flies to me, to others superhuman or not they could pose quite the threat. I had now done everything I could do to prepare my people, it was now time to start patrolling the streets until the initial invasion was finished.
