Bab 65: Plan

Bad memories suddenly surfaced in Kevin's mind.

It wasn't entirely correct to say that he hated animals.

He just didn't want to look at them, hold them in his hand, or pet them... because he would remember that man venting his anger by killing animals.

Kevin's shoulders shook vigorously. Lawrence held Kevin's shoulder firmly, just to keep him still.

"What's wrong?" Kevin shook his head. "I'm okay."

Lawrence opened his mouth, wanting to say something but decided against it. Kevin tried to occupy a smaller space as his body could fit, like a small adorable cat wiggling around, trying to fit its fat belly into a small box.

Lawrence could sense Kevin's sudden change in mood and decided to stop teasing him.

In his sleep, Kevin began to dream about his brother, his terrified figure crouched alone inside the toilet, trying hard not to be found by the people who frequently came to their house.
