The sight of Wan Quan's unexpected presence at my cottage was unusual. The disciples of the Beast Order Sect rarely ventured here, reserving such visits for special occasions. My curiosity got the better of me.

"What's going on?" I inquired, my concern piqued.

Wan Quan took a moment to catch his breath before delivering the disconcerting news. "The situation is dire. Patriarch Hu was preparing to meet with the Beast Men Sect's Patriarch, but before they could even convene, the beast men attacked one of our mines deep within the forest. Our spiritual stone mine is under siege, and our disciples are currently fighting for their lives."

My shock was palpable. "Why? I thought the two Sects had peaceful relations!"
