Bab 61: The Aftermath of Mission

"Before becoming a Slayer Knight, I was a baseball athlete, and I excelled at hitting balls and running." Hobe explained another possibility. "That's why I survived for a year living in the infected area."

"Oh," Liam replied. He glanced at Hobe's slender figure, but he could see prominent veins on the back of his hands with sturdy fingers wrapped around the baseball bat. It looked robust, providing a firm grip.

"Should we take this weird creature with us?" Hobe questioned, looking at the scary bat-headed lizard thing.

"Forget it. We'll handle it later," Liam mumbled, walking away.

Hobe glanced at the green creature for a moment before hurrying to catch up with Liam. He felt like he'd experienced something similar before, but he wasn't sure.

As they descended the stairs, Christopher joined them near the landing. The mutants on the lower floor were not as numerous as anticipated.
