Dian's heart sank as he realized the severity of the situation. They were the first people he met in this world and their life was hanging by a thread as the poison continued its relentless assault on their body. He carefully examined the lady in black's body, checking the extent of the poison's reach, respectfully checking under her clothes to assess the damage. The sight was disheartening, as her entire right side was consumed by the poisonous hue, indicating the perilous state of her condition. The poison had already made its way to her heart. But, despite the lethal circumstances, her heart had not stopped as Dian checked her pulse.
Dian's mind raced, desperately searching for a solution within the confines of his limited understanding. He contemplated the differences between this world and his own, grappling with the realization that his knowledge and expertise were rendered useless in this foreign realm. The bodies, the poisons, and even the antidotes were unfamiliar to him.
His gaze shifted to the unconscious child, who bore the same telltale signs of poisoning. More than half of her fragile frame was tainted by the venomous onslaught, mirroring the dire state of her mentor. Dian understood that he couldn't rely solely on his own knowledge and instincts to combat this threat. He needed someone who understood the intricacies of this world, someone who could guide him in navigating the treacherous waters of antidotes and remedies. He needed a guide.

You can level up your demon system by leveling yourself up. There's various different knowledge within each demon soul which will extracted as soon as you obtain their souls, i.e. Experience points.
Dian's mind raced, desperately searching for a way to save the lives of the two girls. The weight of his helplessness pressed upon him, as he realized that even if he were to embark on a relentless campaign against the infant demon hares, it would take far too long. Time was not a luxury they could afford.
Just then, the lady in black started coughing out black blood, noticing it, Dian quickly ran towards her and kneeled to even closer.

Before Dian could continue, the lady spoke, her voice barely above a whisper, carrying the weight of her weakened state. "A golden karyda fruit will alleviate the poison," she revealed, her words a lifeline of information amidst the uncertainty.

The lady in black, unable to provide a direct answer, surprised Dian by conjuring a crystal ball in her hand and extending it towards him. Dian's brows furrowed in bewilderment, yet he instinctively reached out and took hold of the mysterious object. As his fingers closed around it, a surge of energy coursed through him, causing his system menu to materialize before his eyes, presenting him with a single, crucial inquiry.

This orb is a skill?
Technically, it's a demon soul. When a demon dies, its soul points, i.e. experience points, is transferred to its killer but the leftovers sometimes crystallize. Its official name is Demon orb, and it can crystallize into skills, classes, weapons, armors, and even tools.
Dian started questioning whether he should absorb the demon orb or not but the hesitation lasted for moment as he remembered the lives of two people were on his hand.

Suddenly, the demon orb started dissolving into thin air, Dian felt a surge of energy coursing through his body. He could sense the presence of new knowledge within him, like a locked vault waiting to be opened. However, as he attempted to tap into this newfound understanding, he encountered an unexpected barrier. It was as if the knowledge existed within his mind, but he couldn't fully access or comprehend it.

Dian was a bit surprised by the system detecting the fusion but he didn't have time for any of it, his only life lines were dying and time wasn't on his side, he instead ask one simple question to his system.
Will fusing have any drawbacks?
No. The skill will just be transferred to your system, so instead of thinking about the plants manually with the botany skill, The system will show you what you're looking for while it will also upgrade the demon system, somewhat.

Dian's mind buzzed with a mix of confusion and urgency. Dian concentrated on visualizing the golden karyda fruit that he was told about and almost as if in response to his thoughts, a small window materialized before him, presenting a vivid image of the fruit. It looked extremely similar to the coconuts he was familiar with from his own world but with a vibrant yellow color.
Studying the details displayed in the status window, Dian absorbed the crucial information. The golden karyda fruit grew high atop trees, likely out of reach without some form of aid. The window further revealed that there were rare forms of this fruit signified by a golden color outer shell, the milk of the golden Karyda possessed the power to temporarily halt the effects of the poison, providing relief and alleviating the damage caused.
He recalled seeing a few of these golden karyda fruits hanging high at the tops of trees, but he had been unaware of their significance until now. However, something caught his attention as he began to move towards the trees.
When he looked up at the towering trees, he noticed unusual outlines of the coconut-like fruits. It was as if they were highlighted or outlined, standing out from the rest of the tree's foliage. This peculiar sight made Dian pause and ponder the situation. Were these outlines a sign or an effect of his newly acquired Botanist skill? It was an unexpected development, yet he couldn't ignore the possibility.
That didn't happen before.

As Dian moved through the surroundings, his attention was not solely focused on the outlined golden karyda fruits. His instincts as a survivor kicked in, and he scanned the area for any other potentially beneficial resources. His eyes keenly searched for medicinal herbs or plants that could aid in alleviating the pain and symptoms caused by the poison.
Amidst his search, Dian spotted various plants that he recognized from his limited knowledge. Some had vibrant leaves or distinctive features that hinted at their potential medicinal properties but he didn't know what kind of illness they treated. The information regarding the vegetation always ended with 'relieving headaches somewhat, can be used as laxatives, etc.' Apparently, he needed some kind of medicinal knowledge as well if he wants to use vegetation as medicine.
In the end, with his makeshift knife, he carefully cut a few weeds which said to be a somewhat pain-reliever and gathered them, knowing that even a small relief could make a difference in the dire situation.
However, his primary objective remained the golden karyda fruit. Dian continued to move through the forest, his gaze fixed on the towering trees. After what felt like an eternity of searching, his perseverance paid off. There, amidst the foliage, he finally laid eyes on a distinct golden-outlined karyda fruit. It dangled tantalizingly at the top of the tree, seemingly aware of its life-saving significance.
