Bab 56: Resistance is Born

Noa turned to face the woman, who still seemed fearful. "Why do you have this?" he asked, holding up the crumpled paper.

The woman looked startled at first, then her gaze hardened with defiance. "I don't have to explain myself to you," she retorted, lifting her head as if gaining confidence. "Besides, it's just a poem."

Indeed, the paper contained lines of poetry, but the underlying message was clear.

[Beyond the veil of darkness,

Oppression reigns supreme,

But a hero rises up,

To shatter the tyrant's scheme.

In a world torn apart by strife,

The tyrant holds the oppressed in his grip,

But the hero steps forth with a pure heart,

And brings freedom with a single, mighty tip.]

Noa's attention was drawn to the symbol of a silver cross that adorned the paper. It resembled the emblem seen in the hospital located in the suburbs. Typically, hospitals utilized the red cross symbol.
