Arabella glanced at him, a mixture of annoyance and amusement evident in her eyes. "Yes, how about you hope for a chance when you organize a better party than this. It's not up to my taste, you see." Her sassy reply was accompanied by her graceful rise from the seat, ready to leave.

Luke, not willing to let her go so easily, reached out and firmly held her hands, his grip tightening. Arabella's annoyance turned into anger as she tried to free herself from his grasp.
